Cards thump the Bears. Who gets the deflated football?

I figure he stands behind him, until he doesn't.  GM's almost always get more than 1 head coach hire.  I would bet the Bears are putting together their plan for HC candidates already.  Just because they don't share that publicly now doesn't mean anything.  

When coaching candidates (the best of next year's crop) consider what job to take (the best will get multiple offers) they will consider a number of factors.  One in our favor is that the Bears historically are fairly patient with their new coach hire and give their HCs a few years before firing them.  Chicago now (finally) has a legit young franchise QB in place too.  If a head coach candidate doesn't feel like he can win super bowls with Caleb Williams then we don't want that guy.  Dude is an idiot. 

The 2025 version of the Bears should be VERY lucrative for a head coach candidate.  I would argue it may be the best opportunity.  Focus on the OL and a solid coaching staff hire - and this team could be a legit solid team that 1st year.
