Yet he's a better QB than Justin Fields who many still wish was here.
It looks to me like most here like Caleb as our QB. I think some do think Fields is a good fit for the Steelers... at least for now.
I am happy to see Justin improving and hopeful he reaches his potential. He never got a fair shake in Chicago. I think Poles really tried to give Caleb a fair shake but coaches and OL are failing.

I was really frustrated and angry watching the OL, but I do believe this unit can get better... I just hope we can keep these 5 together now (no injuries for awhile anyway as they get game reps together as a unit). Waldron has struggled installing the offense, but he has proven in the past that he is better than this. I believe it is reasonable to believe he too will improve. I get it. Installing a new offense on a new team with a number of new players - with a rookie QB making his very first starts - is a daunting task. No question Waldron made mistakes. But I do believe this will get better as the season progresses. But it will be a process. We won't see a miracle overnight. I am trying so very hard to not go full-meatball (LOL, okay, I've already gone full-meatball but am trying to reel in my emotions now)
I have been adamant since we hired Flus that I wish we would have gotten an Offensive minded head coach. I know it's early but I have seen enough, it's like groundhog day all over. A good defense that fails, an offense that is not functional. Before y'all jump on the OL ask why the bears. Anytime pressure is applied by Defense, OL looks like a turnstyle. I do not believe OL coach Morgan is helping. OC Waldron did well in Seattle and yet nothing has changed.
I do not want to see Caleb become Fields2. Fields is now 3-0 at Pittsburg while we look the same. Defense continues to allow opposing offense to score more than ours, we can't stop a Turtle from penetrating our OL.
Flus is a problem and we need to make changes now. He threw Caleb under the bus calling interception aggressive throw, he left no doubt about his beliefs which are old school believing defense can win. We need to cut ties now with Flus as he is a major part of the problem, identify interim HC from within, find a HC like Ben Johnson from Detroit next off-season. We have the worst coaches in the North and until we change that it's ludicrous to expect anything else to change.
Here is the quote, he is a dinosaur in a modern league. Or better put, a DC masquerading as a HC.
If the defense is outstanding all year, but we win 8 games, the problem is Waldron, Morgan, and Poles (for not having enough talent on the OL after 3 years). Nobody would hire Flus after 3 losing seasons — not all his fault, but HC always gets most of the blame. I would try to keep him as DC and replace the rest of them. I know that’s very unconventional, but might be best option.
We are not there yet. Still have 13 games to get the ship turned around.
