What I don't get is, we were #2 last year in rushing. Majority of the oline is still here. How did we regress so badly in the oline? This is why coaching matters.
This is not the same OL. Fields is gone. Swift requires a legit OL to run these plays well. We do miss Monty who could run better without an OL.
It is the same OL except for the center. And it should be easier with JF gone because they actually have to worry about someone who can pass the ball consistently and can't just stack the box. So what changed? Unless there are a bunch of hidden injuries we don't know about the only thing that has really changed is the OC.
I've seen a number of videos where one OL is inside zone blocking while the guy next to him his outside zone blocking on the same play. If that is happening it's not going to matter if they win against their guy or not since someone is out of position. There's just too much of that going on. Again this wasn't happening like this last year. They look like they don't know what they are supposed to be doing. I can only point to coaching at this point. It's not like these guys are all vets who suddenly got old. These guys should all be in their prime. Given the inconsistent play calling so far it's a legitimate question whether this is mostly on the coaching.
And the idea that Swift needs "a legit OL to run these plays well" is kind of a weird thing to say. Why would he be different than anyone else? And if that's the case then we need to start playing someone else.

The question in my mind is, how many OCs do we go through before its also the HC?

I'll preface this with saying you make some good points. LOL, I'm not trying to be difficult. It's not quite an apples-to-apples OL comparison, as far as the OL being the same. It has had a few changes. We're on our 3rd starting C since last season. 4th if you count Whitehair/Patrick switching around, then Bates and now Shelton. Bates was playing for Nate Davis in camp, then Nate was out and Matt Pryor in. I totally agree the players don't seem to be on the same page on some plays. As you said, the don't seem to know what they are supposed to be doing - to me it looks like they don't know blocking responsibilities at times. I get it, that the new OC, Waldron, is installing a new offense here... but the OL coach is the same guy, Morgan.
Regardless, the run game isn't what it needs to be.

I will say even though OL coaches aren't typically a topic people talk much about, I have heard people grumbling about him since he was hired. It should also be noted that this year along with being OL coach he was also promoted to the run game coordinator. So it's certainly possible he could be a significant reason for the recent poor performance.
