While I like dbs, it does at times get overwhelming digging through the trash to find content. I, while not opposed to a little off-topic banter, would like a place that is more focused. Maybe this will be it.
we do like to have fun here too, but not in a mean, 'thread overtaking' kind of way. this is gonna be a place to relax and talk Bears football, simple as that. we are very happy you've joined us and I know the guys will be pleased too

While I think Ski has done a good job of creating and maintaining DaBears I feel like it is the right time to move on. I have enjoyed almost every bit of DaBears, but the last year has been rough. I am glad I threw some dollars at Ski so he could get some money to run the servers for, but I feel like the board went in a difference direction than I had hoped for.
This seems to be working very well as a new site, loads of good content. Soul with over 400 posts already? Damn I missed you. So good to see people embrace this new board, really tells the story of how much a "clean up" was needed.
That being said I have no hard feelings towards DaBears.com and I still cheerish Ski and the mods for the work they have done over the years.

In the end it's Ski's board and he can do w/it as he wishes. He's burnt out on the Bears b/c as a team they are bad and have been and aren't looking at being contenders anytime soon; I cannot really blame him. If you listened to Big Doug his last few years on the score, he was also, you could hear it in his tone and in his words, he was beyond the normal drunken schtick he and Ed O had started in post games.
Hell I'm not excited about the NFL this year at all. I have no hope in this season being any kind of success. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see it, even w/an easy schedule. I'll be okay w/8-8, anything more is over achieving, anything less is probably understandable w/the injuries.

It's not that they don't appreciate it Soul, it's just that now they don't have enough words left to put out the next edition. They only had a few Zs, a handful of Ys, a couple of Xs. You can't put together a proper dictionary with what you left them.

I think it's cool to have choices. Now I have two boards to use and more perspectives to entertain. Nothing wrong with dabears forum, but this is a nice change of pace.
