I just wanted to air the secret that's been brought to my attention. If you want a Bears message board that is for the serious discussions, then check out: da-bears.proboards.com/ .
While this is a rebellion from the members here who don't want this to be awkward, I want to make sure others who don't like it here, please, feel free to join the rebellion.
DaBears has moved to try and have more fun. Hell, the Chicago Bears are certainly not bringing the entertainment. Keeping this place a seriously only place, it's been rather bland talking about a team that's stuck in the mud. I'm certainly do not have any interest in Bears football.
I have no hard feelings for anyone that joins that forum. Different sites offer different things.
I just wanted to bring this to the surface, and remove any "secret" movement feeling.
I thank those that have been a part of DaBears over the years, but times have changed here. Thank you for being a part of DBS. Best wishes.
You can have fun and not have trolls on your board. DBS is just infested with trolls, Ski needs to smell the coffee when all (and I mean all) of his historic and recent knowledgeable posters have skipped town. If he can't see that then I don't know what to tell you.

You're right, time to move on and enjoy real Bears discussion.
So is he upset or just tired of Bears football or what? I had a hard time distinguishing how he actually feels.
probably both, but calling members of your board rebells?! cos they joined another forum is just ludacris, and I dont mean the guy from the Fast & Furious
Hmmm, more than a few "left handed" compliments were included there Ski old buddy and most were unnecessary including the term rebellion being horribly misplaced. If is was a true rebellion we'd have attempted to take back DaBears from those who'd come to steal it. What we did was a total succession from that union to this one. We just have our own "country" now separate and apart from that one.
I also take some degree of exception to the thought that this has been some kind of big secret. If it is it's one of the worst kept ones I've ever been asked to keep because we've been contacting DaBears members through their PMs to confirm their registrations here. I suppose we could have hired a plane to fly over the site with a banner letting everyone know we were here but we couldn't afford it. LOL
As for "serious discussion" and "fun" I don't think we lack either or at the very least some of us don't believe that. What I do agree with though is things certainly have changed there when trolling for arguments and belittling long time contributors is what Ski wants to characterize as being just old good natured "fun". I don't see it that way and my guess is the reason most of you are here is because you don't see it that way either.

That pretty much says it all. When the sponsor of the website is telling you he no longer has any interest in Bears football then I have to ask why he's operating a site he calls the #1 Bears Football Fan Site? It's no longer that it's "The Bar Scene Gone Wild" in the football forum which is something I warned off long ago when that forum was first conceived of as an unmoderated repository for religion, politics, and any kook who wanted to mouth off about something without the restrictions of moderation or even good taste.
We do offer something different but it's not in anyway lacking in "fun" or to be confined only to "serious football posting". One tour around here is enough to expose that myth. There is not one single reason why we can't have both and I certainly intend to. So post as you will. There aren't any restrictions on having fun posting or poking good natured fun at a friend and fellow member. Hell Houston and I are famous for it as are the Cutler debates between Ric and I. But all of that is done with a respect for one another and our friendships that simply no longer existed between some members at DaBears.
So thanks for the ride Ski. I was once very proud to be a part of DaBears and it was some fun while it lasted but if what you have going on now is your idea of "fun" well then it's the kind of fun I don't need in my life any longer. It's become more of a carnival of clowns than a football fan site but apparently that's what you all want it to be so we wish you the best as well.
I also found found that line just crazy when I was reading it this morning. Of course all the trolls chimed in on how rigid the rules were here on this board so on that note I joined here immediately.

No hawk. It's not hard at all.

Does that sound like the attitude of a loyal Bears fan who operates a Bears fan site?
