We stand a chance if all three phases show up. We won't win (IMO) on just ST and D. They are too good of a team
I checked on the weather for Houston on Sunday, BIH. It's going to be in the 90's and humid. LOL, when is it not humid in Houston, right? The Texans will be used to the heat. But Chicago Bears players may struggle if the defense is out there a lot without breathers. We do need the offense to have extended drives that eat clock and keep the D from getting totally gassed.
We've seen this in the past when Bears teams play in the south in hot weather like that. It can be a factor.

Then we gotta run that ball.
That helps everything. Caleb. Our D. The Texans D are human too. They’ll eventually crap out.

hard to run the ball when your G's and C are laying down. if that happens again there is 0 shot regardless of how well or bad Caleb plays. Like you said the run game mattes, it helps all phases of the game, but there is no run game w/a bad OL. We don't have that type of RB that can excel w/a below average to bad OL. There is no Forte on this team, no Sneal let alone Sweetness. The OL has to open holes, and sustain them for the RB's to succeed.

I think I saw enough from the shaky Bear offense in this past game to believe that it was a combination of a few weeks off, new offense, new players & Caleb finding his sea legs at regular season speed. Until I see them struggle across 3-4 games I'll reserve judgement as they ramp up. Caleb should have had 2 TD and at least one INT, and with some more plays should have been upwards of 200 yards passing. I think that's what he'll do this weekend at least.
I think this week they'll spend time this week working on getting the offense on the same page - evaluating what went wrong & correcting. Especially the run game, which should be MUCH better behind this OL. They were definitely out of sorts. And then combine that with Caleb settling down & I think we'll see a good game.
I like this Bear defensive backfield against ANYONE. Diggs, Collins & Dell don't seem like an imposing threat. Mixon either. Stroud is pretty good but he isn't a generational talent. I don't think the Bears are outmatched by much, if at all in terms of talent. So to me it is just a matter of putting it on the field. I also believe if Caleb settles out of the rookie yips, Tyler Scott streaking down the field is a real threat in the absence of Rome.
