I'm starting Caleb Williams in my Fantasy Football this week. I've probably doomed him in doing so.
If it makes you feel any better I bought a Caleb Williams jersey which is a deadlier Kiss Of Death than Michael Corleone could ever give.
Maybe my jersey and your fantasy team will cancel each other out? Like how a negative times a negative equals a positive?
negative times a negative equals a positive? that seems like old math to me.
Here's the new math:
18 + X = 6
Now, you might be thinking about rearranging to get X = 6 - 18, and then negative 12 for the value of X. But again, that's old math.
Here are some more examples of new math. I call it Bears math.
18 + 15 = 6
18 + 2 = 6
18 + 13 = 6
18 + 11 = 6
18 + 10 = 6
18 + 85 = 6
18 + 84 = 6
Yup, X = a jersey number, so I'm adding jersey numbers and getting the value of a TD.
I'm not so sure about this one though:
18 + 12 = ? ? ? It could be 6. could be a 0 (fumble) or worse -6 (fumble and TD the other way). I'm designating this specific expression as an imaginary number until further review after the first quarter of the season.

I used to say 1 + 2 = 6 with DJ Moore so maybe there's a thing to football math?

I call MSU!!!
No, not MSU. BMU.
Let me expound further upon the rules of Bears Math.
The more general equation is A + X = 6, where A can equal 18 or 17, in extreme conditions, 16 is a legitimate number.
Regardless of the values of A or X, the result is always a constant, 6.
There is also a corollary expression:
D + 8 = 3
where D normally equals 4. In extremely rare circumstances, D has been known to equal 3, but this is highly undesirable. When D=3, it is known as the Trestman Theory. Trying for a field goal on 3rd Down, don't ya know!

The answer is usually 5 , but 5 is inherently unstable and needs the 1 molecule to stabilize it and so you always see 6 instead of 5.
It's physics combined with math. At MSU we call it physical math. But then, we call it anything our sponsors want us to call it. So far, no sponsors so I get to make it up myself

1. Will the Bears win? Yep - breaking the first pick curse.
2. How many points will the Bears score? 34
3. How many points will the D allow? 20 but without it really looking close (E.g., Titans score a 2nd TD late in the 4th with the Bear D in prevent)
4. How many passing yards will Caleb have in this game? 250-ish, which will be a lot considering a 60:40 run:pass ratio in Caleb's first game.
5. Will the "Ferret King" Velus Jones justify his roster spot, or not? Yes, on offense for several touches in addition to having a couple of nice KR.
6, How will the OL do? They'll do pretty well, with a lot of continuity from last year paying off.
7. How will the DL do? Guessing they'll do better in run D than pass rush, forcing Levis to throw (and throw INTs). I think Dex has a good game and Booker gets his first sack even though Walker is playing well and stays starting.
8. Will the Bears be able to run the ball effectively and help take pressure off of Caleb the Rook? Yes - I predict they look a lot like Waldron's run heavy Seahawks, but also utilizing a lot of play action to take advantage of 18's awareness and creativity. IIRC Waldron isn't normally a big play action guy - but I think he's changing his offense a bit to suit 18.
9. How will the Shane Waldron offense look in this opening game - good, bad, rough? Good with a few hiccups naturally.
10. Throw in anything additional that comes to mind. I think the Bear D makes this a statement game right out of the gate. That defensive backfield is probably the best the Bears have EVER had in terms of talent and depth. Again, like with the OL, continuity across the entire D is going to really pay off this year. I think if they stay healthy they have a top 5 defense in them. THAT and the focus on turnovers is going to put Caleb in a great position to feast on short fields. Santos too, if you're looking for a sleeper K in your redraft league.
