I initially assumed this would be a fairly easy game until I looked at their roster. It turns out they have some Dudes! I hope Will Levis is bad because otherwise this will be a tough season opener.
I thought I'd put up the first game thread for our season here. What are you expecting to see in this first game?
1. Will the Bears win?
Big time. 31 to 13
2. How many points will the Bears score?
31
3. How many points will the D allow?
13
4. How many passing yards will Caleb have in this game?
290. I'm not giving him 300 in his first game, but the Titans are going to be a great first opponent for him.
5. Will the "Ferret King" Velus Jones justify his roster spot, or not?
Velus Jones couldn't justify his roster spot if he saved the planet from an asteroid like Bruce Willis in Armageddon.
6, How will the OL do?
Good enough. The interior scares me, but CW is good at throwing on the move so yes the OL will be a concern but CW will overcome that for the most part.
7. How will the DL do?
This will be the weak spot. Until that second pass rusher emerges we are in trouble. Sweat will be great. We desperately need that second guy. I would like to see Booker get reps with the 1s in this game to see what we have.
8. Will the Bears be able to run the ball effectively and help take pressure off of Caleb the Rook?
I think so yes, but the highlight will be the passing to DJ, Allen and Odunze. Kmet is no slouch either but there isn't a defense in the league that can handle our WRs.
9. How will the Shane Waldron offense look in this opening game - good, bad, rough?
The offense will look better than it really is. That isn't to be negative on the Waldron offense as a concept at all, but look at the personnel. Any one of us could call the plays and put up 17 with these guys.
10. Throw in anything additional that comes to mind.
It'll be an exciting win that I've waited months for.
