I disagree on no QB's being worth a top 5 pick. This team needs to get it's QB situation figured out, or as I said in the comments section it won't matter who coaches this team, or who we have on defense. All the "good" coaches in this league have the QB situation handled....ever notice that? I liked what I saw out of Trubisky yesterday...but I need to watch more. I like Watson a lot. Either way this team needs more TALENT. A lot more.
You know your talking about the Bears, no way they pick 3 Offensive players with the first 3 pick of any draft. I see them going more S or DE in the first two picks next year then maybe QB.
Our defense needs more help than our offense imo.
Let's take a look on Offense the Bears need help with Offensive Line one maybe two Tackles, Tight End, Wide Receiver again one maybe two, oh and Quarter Back.

Quarterback is the glowing neon sign of offensive needs and there is no clear direction there - lots of risk with whatever direction we take at that spot.
This is the year Pace needs to throw some real skin in the game. He needs to get a QB which will have the effect of bolstering or burying his identity as a GM.
He doesn't have a lot of great options though he is in a better position than many other team's in the league in that he's got a top 5 pick in the draft AND he's got a few FA candidates he can grade and choose from.
I think the other offensive needs are important but not as urgent as the QB position or the secondary.
If we're solely looking at TE, the knee injry to Jake Butt might be a blessing in disguise as his draft stock will plummett and we might be able to land a decent TE in the 3rd or 4th round. At the same time, if Pace initially has a good grade on David Njoku, he could have just elevated his status enough to make him unreachable for the Bears with that Butt exit.
This does not seem to be the year of the OT. Even Cam Robinson - the early consensus OT - is hailed more as a mauler RT / Guard type prospect who can hold up in coverage at the college level butmight face some serious issues there at the next level. We'll see.
WR is probably getting shuffled off to FA acquisitions.

Which teams won todays college semi-finals games ? The ones w the best QB's .
To me how well a QB plays in big games vs. the best D's tells alot ( cuz it's the best indicator of how well he'll hold up vs pro defenses ) . I don't care what the scouts say , I'm almost 100% sold on Watson - the championship game will be the deciding factor , but you can't tell me he doesn't have the makeup of a good QB . He's calm , methodical , smart , can move / run and makes the kinds of throws that move the chains vs pro style defenses . He's Russell Wilson in a bigger body .

Yep. I know he's thrown some more INT's this year, but when I watch the kid in a big game he constantly shows up and balls out. Thats the kind of player I want. Plus as you stated he creates a ton of headaches for a defense because when nothing is there he can tuck it and create on his own. I like that he doesn't look to do that first too. He can make every throw you ask a QB to make...to me he has it all. He needs to get a little better with the deep throw, but thats nit picking.

I've seen Njoku since he was in HS too. Kid is a freak athlete. In HS he won the national high jump with a jump of 6'11'' and has jumped as high as 7'1'' and he was great in the triple jump as well. I don't think he's gonna remind anyone of Bennett as a blocker, but the kid is a receiving threat and would be great in the red zone. The TE class is pretty loaded, and he got a second round grade from the advisory committee, so if we wanted him we would be able to get him I think.
