Jenkins is a stud when he can play and isn't injured. I hope he plays most games this year and gets paid.
Davis? Davis was a decent OL before coming to Chicago. He had some really really BAD games last year for us. Green Bay and Detroit, in particular owned him... but it's not like they are division rivals or anything like that. Oh, wait...
At the end of the season I was willing to give him a mulligan for 2023. But what's up with him now? When asked if Nate Davis is the starter again at RG (at his last press conference), Eberflus gave him a lukewarm endorsement: “Yeah, don’t know yet,” he said Wednesday. “I really don’t know. We’ll see. We’ll see how it goes."
We have Bates (who I thought was our Center for this year) and Matt Pryor who we signed 8 weeks ago, playing RG. Nate Davis basically watched them from the sideline. Is he hurt? Is he out of shape and can't play? We saw this last summer and it did not go well for the Bears (who gave this guy a $30-million dollar contract). But take heart... PFF believes he's one of the beter OL in the NFL. Right.

I'm guessing he will be a cut if someone becomes available they didn't see being available. Just eat the salary cap and move on from him. Next year would be ideal cap wise but sometimes just have to make the adjustment. A big kid from Poles though I understand the move
As for Nate Davis - I had my concerns with him last year. He looked good against average players, but when up against an elite player, he often got his ass handed to him.
He's ok for a fill in role until you can draft someone, but I am hoping that there is a better option that can push him - maybe the center they got from the Rams?
As for what's going on right now, they may be holding him out as an injury precaution. They want everyone healthy for training camp, so I wouldn't read anything into OTAs.
Lorin Cox suggests Bates at RG and Shelton at center. That might be the best option if Davis can’t get his s** together.
Brad Biggs has been adamant that Bates is the starting center. Might be Shelton at RG.
