Do it. I am thinking Super Bowl ready soon. Not worrying about 3-4 years into future. A lot of these guys will be gone by then.
You might not be worrying about 3 to 4 years from now, but it is quite literally part of Poles job to worry about 3 to 4 years from now.
I have to believe the Bears have a fairly detailed multi-year plan that stretches to a 5-year plan. Of course it would need to be a living document that changes as you navigate through it year by year. But you would have to map out some of that for financial purposes (have some guard rails in place, right?). Us fans, and I include myself here, we want every good player... just buy 'em at these full retail prices, as if there is no such thing as a cap. Poles (obviously) can't be that way. Us fans live in a fantasy world. LOL, we all think we know more than NFL executives and GMs and scouts. We don't.

One thing we can do as well as them is watch the games and see the final score. You add that up for 17 games year after year, and you have a picture of where things are going (or not). I don’t think Warren expects to spend 5 years to win the North and have a Super Bowl ready team. I was encouraged by two statements he made at his press conference: (1) He wants a Super Bowl and (2) he is “impatient.” I think he and I are in the same mood.

Exactly!
I am tempted but would probably pass.
A) I want all my top-60 picks (3 of them) to go all-in next offseason on building a truly dominant team that wins the division for the next decade.
B) He wants to be PAID. That's why he asking for a trade. Bears already paid Sweat a lot of coin. Need a guy on a rookie deal on the opposite side.
C) Its a little early to go into "win now mode". That's what Pace did with Mack. Lets give the QB and passing O one freakin year to get ready and prove itself.
D) Next year draft class looks really good on D. 2025 wasn't very good.

As long as you mean 2024 wasn't a good draft class for defense. And that the 2025 draft class is much better for defensive front 7 picks, I agree totally.

But if we pick in the lower half of the round, it won't matter because we won't get those top guys. The guys we will pick from would be comparable to the top guys this year..... give or take.

Assuming we don't trade our top 2025 picks away, we have our 1st round and 2d round picks and Carolina's 2nd round pick. Our 1st roud and Carolina's 2nd round might be enough to get us into the top 10.
And we cannot discount who Poles has his eyes on in the run up to the draft. He may be in love withs a 2nd round pick. And we also cannot ignore what may happen in the development of any of his 2023 and 2024 DL picks.

Our 1st and Carolinas 2nd just might do that. Yeah, he has once again put himself in a very flexible position

A) Picks are never a forsure thing. Would you rather have our 2024 2nd round pick or Sweat?
B) We got the cap space to do it. We don't need a rookie DE. We already have a rookie QB and rookie WR saving us 70+ million in cap space alone. Average QB contract is 50 million and top WR go for 30 million.
C) Had we had a legit QB. We would of won in 2018. That defense carried us. Trubisky just benefited from that defense. I don't see Williams anywhere as bad as Trubisky or Fields. I see a floor similar to Matt Stafford.
D) Rookies have to be paid no matter what. You only got 4 years of cheap rookie contract and most of the time it takes 2-3 years for them to develop into that player. Its better to give up one pick for a dominate player and use another pick in the future to replace them.
This is the time to do it. As long as we don't give up our 1st round pick. I don't see many negative things. We would still have a 2nd rounder and get a dominate player.
