Dead horse. It’s his team now. Time to produce. Clock is ticking.
Then why do you still complain about what you KNOW was a teardown followed by a successful Rebuild?
The team is way, way better now than it was under Emery of Pace.
As I have said 3 or 4 times lately, it’s not good enough to be better - you have to be better than the competition. That remains to be seen. Teams like the Lions and Texans also sucked in 2021. Lions won 3 games and Texans won 4. They are both ranked way ahead of Bears in all these preseason power rankings. As I told JABF, I am cautiously optimistic about 11-6, but I need to see results on the field before I pour the koolaid.

David the hard part is behind us. On paper we have one of the best WR starters in the NFL. We have one of the best QB prospects since Andrew Luck. We revamp our Oline with a ton of depth. We have 4 draft picks in the top 100 and 3 in the top 64 next year. I haven't felt this excited since the Bears traded for Khalil Mack. The only difference is we still have cap space and our first rounder.
My expectations: 2024: 10-7 and wild card spot 2025: 12-5 Win the North or Win a playoff game 2026: Williams 3rd year in the league. NFC Championship to Super Bowl.
Rebuilds take time. You point out towards the Lions but they had a ton of high first round picks to help speed run that rebuild.

Most 12-5 teams are Super Bowl ready, so we have the same standard. Cowboys are the exception. I’ve said before, I don’t want to be the Cowboys.

I look at this team, and marvel at the fact the Bears still have their 1st round picks for future drafts. Poles didn't trade away the future to do this. I'm used to not having a 1st rounder than having one.
If Pace had tanked for the #1 pick, we'd all be wearing Bryce Young jerseys right now.

+1 Lotta truth to that. I am so thankful we have Warren/Poles/Cunningham/Eberflus now. It's a great management team. Not a perfect set of leaders, but I'm thinking it's the best we've had here in a long time. Hope they continue to have many years of success and winning.

You dodged the question.
You're still ragging on the teardown from 2022 even though it clearly was the correct path at the time and the rebuild that followed it is looking really promising. The only player left from that '22 teardown who is still any good is Roquan.

I’m done debating that with you. I would have gone a different route, but it’s done.

MP has a point. We went from an aging expensive vet team to a young a promising rookie team. You can't tell me if we kept all those guys and went win now mode that this team would be in a better place?
I mean you wanted to max support Fields. Fields is a backup QB with the steelers.

I’m done debating this with you, too. Eventually, Fields will get his shot with the Steelers, and we’ll see what happens.
