Experts saying the Bears killed it last night.

I was pretty sure we were not getting MHJ.  So for me it came down to Nabers or Odunze - if we were lucky enough to get one of these top 3 receivers in this draft.  I liked Odunze best because - in addition to having good speed he seems like a good route running technician who ALSO gives a QB a huge catch radius target.  That has to be a great asset for rookie Caleb Williams to have as he transitions to the NFL.  And with D.J. and KA, & Cole Kmet, defenses are going to be really challenged to cover all this receiver talent.

Also, I do like D.J. and Keenan Allen for their route running too.  Caleb will have guys who run great routes and will be where they are supposed to be - and at the right time.  Think about all the bimbo's we've had over the years for our QBs... receivers who ran horrific routes and wrong routes.  It was enough to make ya cry in your beer to watch.  Caleb has incredible help for his transition to NFL quarterbacking now.  Great guys.

When Fields didn't break out like I had hoped last year, I was skeptical.  But no more, David.

We are primed to be a WC team this year and a legit deep threat in 2025 after 3 more high picks + ample cap space.  Bears have one of the best receiver groups in the NFL right now and a solid defense.  Give Caleb one year to get his feet wet and we are in business my friend.

Your buddy Waldron better be what he's cracked up to be.  He has zero excuses for not producing a top-10 offense.

And you have me pegged... I do go back and forth on stuff.  One thing I liked about last night is that the Odunze pick for us was a no-brainer, the Bears usually don't get it right.  They don't do the no-brainer stuff very well.  But last night, Ryan Poles did.  I am mighty happy.

That is a really great point that I hadn't thought about.  But you are right.  Now we can clearly know where the failure is now.  In the past it was just a cesspool of failures that I couldn't sort it out for myself, how much blame should go to each failed component of the team.  LOL, it was like a math equation with too many unknown factors.
