His 2023 season doesn't come close to Henry 2020 season.
McCaffrey never rushed for 1.5k rushing yards in a season. Henry has 3. Henry also has a 2k rushing yard season.
2020 Henry was a TRUE difference maker.
Henry is in the top 5 of single season rushing record. You can't compare the two. Henry when healthy is a better RB.
He has nearly the same yards per carry and has many more receiving yards which are often check downs, hitch routes. Different styles. McCaffery fumbles less. McCaffery all pro 4 x's Henry All pro 3x's I'd say they are both dominant.
His last good year with the panthers were in 2019. His first good year with 49ers was in 2023...
But it should show you how pointless the RB position is. What has he done for his team? Where are the rings?
Seeing that we're replacing a bottom Tier QB in every meaningful stat to one of the best prospects since Andrew Luck. I don't expect a Luck or Stroud performance but I do see improvements happening.
Sorry. getting old. Stopped reading after that
Ya I pretty much scroll past his angry troll posts now as well.
Ain't nobody got time for that anger! I got enough to worry about lol.
ok, so then he is not a good running back. Oh, and I was pretty sure I saw the ball in the air a lot. But the Lions are smart. If the run works, why risk putting it up. And the run worked because of Monty and the OC.
Come on. We got rid of a good running back and replaced him with another for around the same cost. That was my only point. I didn't see what all the back and forth got us.
I never said he isn't a good running back. He's a Tier 2 running back in a RBBC scheme. There is a reason they drafted a running back with their first round pick. That's the style they want to go after. I just don't see a RBBC getting them a super bowl with a QB like Goff. But Monty is very replaceable as the rookie created similar numbers to him with the Lions.
I don't really know Swift game that well. I didn't really watch the Eagles when he played last year.
Except we tried to replace him and still have not gotten the same production. Hopefully, we will with Swift.

That's my hope too, BIH, that Swift will be a solid addition. I liked Monty a lot, but he's gone now and I figure that I can't change that. Right now I am hoping I can keep my focus on our present team and players.

I can get to nine wins over teams with bad QBs or home games I expect the Bears to win. Note, I said expect not predict. I don't know enough about the Cardinals to really make a prediction here. Titans added talent yet are going to throw a 3rd tier QB out there to lead them. Richardson still is an unknown for the Colts. Rams are (IMO) on the decline. Washington will be interesting, depend on how their drafted QB goes. Minny is going to free fall this season and I think Jefferson is going to force his way out. (Watch him sign tomorrow ha ha ha.)

These posts seem to grow legs. I had started just by saying I didn't get why we traded Monty and then signed a guy for around the same money that we hoped would equal Montys production. LOL.... it kind of went from there. But yeah, I hope Swift gives the Bears what Flus (and fans) hope for. I'd be thrilled if he does for us what Monty used to and now does for the Lions. Some moves I don't get, but I suppose I don't need to.
Some moves I don't get, but I suppose I don't need to.
To be honest, some of these moves are simply "above the heads" of mere mortals... it takes a person with an advanced MSU degree to fully grasp all of this... oh, wait...

Damn.... now I have to put a spin on this.....
LOL, you always make my day - and you make me laugh, BIH. Mighty good that you are here. We need the lift each day for sure.
EDIT: I'm off to Lowes for hardware now... Mrs JABF has a honey-do list that is gonna kill me today
I think with a productive player like a RB (Monty) you are always hoping you can maintain the level of production AND take a shot at getting something better for the same price or less. Teams do this all the time. They have a player that they like, but he's just not top tier for whatever reason. So they try to replace him. The common thinking on RBs has swung far, will be interesting to see if teams can identify an opportunity there to add/keep talent.
Classic example from recent Bears history....Alex Brown v Mark Anderson. Anderson had a great season as a situational pass rusher while ABrown was simply a step up from a JAG as a DE. So Lovie named Anderson as starter (seeming 12+ sacks as the floor) and Brown as the backup. Didn't work as Anderson couldn't play the run, while Brown could AND Brown provided a little pass rush being a more complete player. End of experiment.
