This is a better approach than falling in love with The Biscuit and not bothering to take a look at that guy who jumped up a bunch in the 2017 draft from Texas Tech.

He has been shooting up the rankings. I have seen him at number 2 on some lists. 

McCarthy seems like a guy everyone wants to succeed. Lots of media pushing him up, expect Chris Simms to come out any day now with a video proclaiming JJ to be the best QB prospect of this class. Personally I'm still waiting for Davis Mills to make his comeback as the greatest QB from his class, followed by Mond.

Most years you can simply ignore the late risers who happen to be QBs in a strong QB year.

IMO a lot of it comes from teams that don't have the capital or stones to trade up for a QB and push the narrative that QB-X is rising up the charts so that when he is drafted, they can say he made a lot of strides during this last season and was shooting up boards for a reason. Media types eager to maintain their "sources" publish whatever teams/agents/players feed them. 

Guys like Simms are like a lot of posters here, simply playing the odds. If Mills had turned out Simms could say "Look what I predicted." When he didn't Simms can push it under the rug by simply ignoring it or my favorite dodge "He just wasn't developed correctly." Either way he gets to come back again and push whatever prospect he wants the next year.
