Fields being traded to Pittsburgh

The Bears have #1 pick with opportunity to draft immortal generational QB. Poles basically said it himself.  They would not be virtually giving away Fields if all they had is the #9 pick. Poles got an earlier offer from the Eagles, but got greedy, then panicked as all the veterans signed with other teams. He set his price too high and then waited til only one or two trading partners remained. Fields is a better QB than Pickett, Darnold, Minshew.  The other footnote to my #1 is that a GM would have to make decision in May about 5th yr. option. As I said on another thread, that would give the GM TWO ways to look like an idiot a year from now. 

no, no he didn't get greedy. There was no better offer, it didn't exist. There was no market for JF1, bc he's not seen as a starter in the NFL, he's seen as a backup. Learn from what you've seen previously on the Bears. Orton, Rex, Cutler, Mitch. Learn from what you saw this year in the trade/FA. 32 NFL teams are telling you he's not seen as a legit starter, b/c he's not.

If he was seen as a starter someone would have traded a ton for him. Even Pitt doesn't see him as a starter, they signed Russell for that role. Backups don't net you day 1 or 2 draft picks.

I forgot to add Howell to my list, and Seahawks are (unfortunately) going to have him as their starter following Geno. And the Steelers will have Fields as their starter following Russ. It could even happen this year, if Russ is injured. If he plays well, that would blow your mind.  

I don’t know the Eagles offer, but I’d bet it was better than a 6th round pick that Poles turned down.

I don't have a direct line to the Steelers like you do. I thought maybe since they had 2 QBs, they would see which one is better. Although, I do like the idea of Fields sitting behind Wilson for a little bit.
