Can’t believe he is only worth a 6 round pick, would have kept him until draft and hoped for better value , I’m sure you could have got the same value after the draft . Thank you Justin Fields ! Hope the draft is a lot better than the way this was handled.👉🏻👁️
They had Poles over a barrel. They knew it had to be a fire sale. The timing is what puzzles me. I thought they would wait to finalize the Caleb visit. So much for working through the process. Do we get any kind of compensatory pick?
If Fields was ANY good, had ANY starting potential, he would have gone for WAY more. This had nothing to do w/them having him over a barrel; b/c the barrel doesn't exist if Fields was any good.
Watson got Hou a haul; while on unknown length of suspension and it was known Hou was moving on. Fields is bad, and his value reflected it.
Well, it's over. Can't say I agree with it. Certainly think we got shortchanged. But what surprised me the most was the timing. Now everybody knows we're using #1, no more smoke and mirrors. But the best thing is no more beating of decayed horse carcasses.
What I've been saying majority of the year with the exception of the 2 games, where I was hoping he figured it out. Field is a one read and run QB and defenses know it. Make him best you passing and he simply can't do it regularly. Wish him the best though regardless.
Not sure he's even a 1 read qb. It really felt at times he was just waiting for it all to break down so he could run. He missed SO many guys on multiple plays. It wasn't like the one of the guys was open, multiple were open and he still held onto it.
Was never more frustrated by a qb then by him. all that potential and never showed an ounce of it, outside of a few games. But a few games in 3 years is not enough.

It was a combination of two things: (1) Fields is still unproven, and don’t quote statistics because I have withdrawn from the “Is Fields any good?” debate, and (2) Poles HAD TO TRADE Fields, and every GM knew it.

I'm disgusted. Disgusted by the return. Disgusted by fans being excited to shit on a guy who did nothing but work his ass off, represent the franchise well, and put an absolutely SHITTY team on his back and make them exciting to watch at times. People can try to spin it however they want, but for 2 of Justins 3 years here it was utter dysfunction or a high school JV team out on the field with a pop warner offensive scheme being run out there. Thats a fact. I think Poles mismanaged this one from the jump. He was patient and tried to wait things out, and then got impatient at the wrong time and got crap value in return. If I'm Poles I'm deleting the Pitt GM's phone number from my phone.
With that said, I'm happy for Justin. He deserves better than what he got here, and Pitt is a great franchise, and Tomlin is a great coach who will highlight his strengths. He'll do well there. Further, I'm relieved this is over with and I can look forward to whats to come for this franchise with Caleb Williams. He's a tremendous talent who will walk into a situation that Fields could have only dreamed of. We're finally putting a QB in a situation to succeed, and its refreshing to see.

Unless it comes out Poles turned down a higher offer at another time he got what the league was willing to pay for Fields. Other teams can watch tape too and they determined that what they saw was worth what it was. Pitt only took him on at that price because they have no other options.

It’s the timing that puzzles me. If that’s all he can get now, there’s little downside to holding til draft night to see if some team (Broncos?) misses on the QB “guy” they were targeting and is looking at options.
