I agree, some insiders claimed Fields was not the most cordial with other QBs when he landed and thought it would be an issue keeping JF with C Williams on roster, plus potential locker room issues with support Fields already has.

You here all the advantages of letting rookie sit behind veteran and in this case it would have probably benefitted Fields future value either when injury to another starter occurred, meanwhile Caleb could have learned and adjusted. Coach needs to be strong enough to talk to leaders and locker room and spin the pros of keeping both.

I am flabbergasted that they gave Fields away for a 6th rounder, but my BIGGEST ISSUE WITH ALL OF THIS IS:

If they were going to move on from Fields, they should have fired Eberflus and started fresh.
We are now in a spot where depending on the outcome of the coming year, Eberflus may be fired and our rookie QB will be forced a whole new offense for year 2. I swear this franchise is nothing but a shit show
