Enough with the sour grapes. No one is guaranteeing anything with Williams. He's a great prospect with a very high ceiling. Will he turn around this franchise? That remains to be seen, but the odds are better than they have been in a long time.

Their 1000% better then what's currently on the roster, but 100% better then JF. Athlete I'll take JF 100 times out of 100, qb'ing I'll take just about anyone over JF. Best qb's in the last 20 years weren't great athletes outside of Mahomes; but Mahomes has turned himself into a hell of a passer to boot. Brady/both Mannings, Rogers, Brees, Flacco, etc. Being a great qb doesn't take great athleticism.

Well, we still don't know if Poles is going to get cute and trade down and so we DON'T have a #1 QB. And even if we do, success is not close to being assured. I know he believes it is because the QBs we have in the stable now are not going to get anything done this season. He is definitely looking to the draft for that based on his moves. I HOPE that means he is going to use the first pick on one. I don't know who is the best of the litter. Most of the time, it does not seem to be the consensus best QB. I know this time that person is Williams, and he will probably be our choice. I just hope that reality meets the hype.

So they might have gotten more but decided to do Fields a solid and send him to a team where he'll have a chance to compete for a starting job because it.was.the.right.thing.to.do. Poles promised he would do right by Fields.

Since people posted that players will remember what Poles did and it will hurt them (can't remember the context.), this should even it out then. FA will remember that Poles is a man of his word and will do right by them.

Sounds like the Bears might have taken it in the ass a little to please Fields. If so, a class move. I still think they might regret this, but we have turned the page and can't wait to see what happens next.

I believe the same thing that happened with Mitch is going to happen to Fields, he'll be a backup and jump from team to team, getting a shot to start here and there. Its a good living, just not $400mil good. We'll follow along all ready to jump on the board and post "I knew it! Fields is an elite QB" after a game where he finally goes over 300 yards in a losing effort against the Browns while wearing Steeler black.

We're such a beaten down fan base that no matter what move the FO makes, we are convinced it was a bad move. Not talking just Fields, but it seems that every single thing Poles et al have done this offseason has been skewered and slammed.

Might be time for all of us to take a week off the Bears.
