We do have limited draft picks if Caleb is the guy at #1 for us. Do you think Poles is done on the OL or do you feel like he'll add a quality guy to the IOL? Ja'Tyer Carter, Larry Borom graded out horrific grades (in the 40's)... Doug Kramer has had 2 snaps in 2 years here (he and Jenkins are made of glass). They still have the "International Project" guy from Nigeria, Roy Mbaeteka, who never played American football until 3 years ago. Not much under contract right now with Whitehair and Patrick gone this year.
We don't have much draft ammo left after our first round (and Caleb will take one of those picks). LOL, does this worry anyone?

In my dream world, Poles signed Bates as a C/G depth piece and plans to draft a center. And if Nabers/Odunze is not available at #9, he will trade down to 16-25 for a second round pick get JPJ in first round if available and Thomas. Use the second round pick for center or WR (whichever one you didn’t get in the first round).
Meanwhile, in the real world, if Nabers/Odunze are gone before #9, he will draft a DL. He might even do it anyway, if Flus pounds the table hard enough.
========
Anyway, give me your predictions on (1) What you want, and (2) What you think has highest probability of actually happening.

I have a strange feeling we might trade down our #9 to the early 20's. There we pick JPJ.

I think we may be done IN SUBSTANCE. He may get us a few backup types before it's over but I don't think anyone that is better than what we already have.

There is that C that had an ACL injury last year, he was starting to look good, Connor Williams from Miami. I wonder if he could be had for a small amount.

Surely, he will get SOME upgrade to SOME position with the #9 pick. A trained chimp could do that throwing darts at a draft board.

What do YOU want him to do with #9?
It is best to wait until FA ends, then make draft predictions/wants

BIH, I have to believe Poles will add talent. Caleb Williams is roadkill if we roll without (at least) a significant upgrade for when Jenkins does his annual IR vacation, and Nate Davis does his Nate Davis imitation (he was bad). We have the backup from Buffalo who played 35 snaps last season (Bates). I look at "the best of the rest" and see guys like Larry Borom and Ja'Tyer Carter (both graded out in the low 40's blocking... that's bad). LOL, of course we have the guy who never played American football until 3 years ago... from Nigeria. I guess there's that.
I do believe Poles won't jeopardize his career drafting Caleb and putting him behind the OL that's on the roster right now. I think he will add at least one solid IOL guy. He's committing GM-suicide if he doesn't.

He'd be a good investment for down the road. PFF, as of yesterday, had him as the #1 ranked FA center. But he won't be able to help the Bears much this season due to the ACL surgery... but I'd love to sign him anyway.
