I know we are all pretty beaten up by a lot of the past failures on the team. Constantly reliving these past failures ad nauseam serves no purpose other than to make us all feel bad each day, right?
But it is a good time to look forward and not wallow in the past (that we can't change). Harbaugh did not come here. It is over. Constantly bringing up past failures on this messageboard is a buzz kill. It serves zero purpose other than to pull us all down emotionally. JMO.
But do you mind if I keep the kool-aid on the shelf until we see some actual results on the field?
The Lions and Packers are waiting.
We don't have to drink the kool-aid. No worries, David. I'm just trying to point out that a steady stream of stirring up past stuff is pointless other than to bring us all down. It does get tiring and old.
LOL, yep, the world as we know it ended when Harbaugh didn't come to the Bears. And somehow Kirk Cousins is now involved in the issue, if I read that Shoutbox correctly. The future of the entire free world... civilization itself, died when Harbaugh went to the Chargers. It is a day that will live in infamy (until later today when MOTM introduces yet another "blast from the past" thing to make our day :-)
Wait.... so you're saying we didn't get Harbaugh?
Well, give me a minute (*feverishly goes through 15-bazillion MOTM posts on the topic) - yeah, BIH, it looks like we did not hire him.

Mark this moment in time cuz I agree with David on this one.
I'm sick of being disappointed by this team and they haven't earned any trust from me. Hope and optimism, yes, but trust, no.
We beat ONE playoff team last season. In Fields "run" at the end of the year we only beat crap teams with crap QBs and we often did so unconvincingly.

Yeah, all those years we blamed Angelo and it was really Harbaugh! Ohhh the humanity! And sincere apologies to Angelo.

I think it was George Will who said, “The future is like the past until it isn’t.”
Another one along the same line: “Everything is unprecedented until it happens.”
I have a little factoid to report: In the last 6 years, 5 centers have been drafted in the first round. I think anybody who plans to draft Powers-Johnson in the second round may be disappointed.

I agree. Here is a link to a WCG article on them. I think JPJ will go in the same area that all these centers did. Somewhere between 17 & 25.

I love that "Everything is unprecedented until it happens.” We often forget that fact. Things change. There is a first time for everything too. If people never dreamed for something better and then tried to accomplish something new, then we'd be a primitive civilization running around in loincloths and still chucking spears.
You're right about P-J not going in the 2nd round. I do think he'll be in the mid to lower first round somewhere. Now this is just "me" talking and not something I've heard or read, but I'd think his high value may also be his ability to be an elite G as well as elite C. If this guy never snapped a football his entire NFL career, and just played guard, I think he may very well be an All-Pro level player. I know folks here would want him starting at C day one for us. But if we do go with a rookie QB1, then I'd be paying to land Cushenberry for a veteran C, and start P-J day one at guard. Having Jenkins/Cushenberry/P-J for our IOL would be one of the best - if not THE best IOL in the entire NFL. Can you imagine your rookie having THAT to play behind at QB? Dude would have a clean pocket that any QB would kill for.
The Bears could swing that too. They have the money to sign Cushenberry. I'd make him an offer he couldn't refuse.

I would love to have both these guys. Let Flus figure out who plays center in training camp. I can’t stop thinking about what this would do for the Bears running game.
