Most of the analysis I am seeing on the various platforms is this indicates that they will stick with Fields. Obviously, we have to wait a while to know for sure.
That's the solution that would reap the greatest rewards IF they can get better production out of Fields. If they go that route, let's hope they can make it happen. Otherwise we miss a golden opportunity for a QB. God, I'd hate to make this decision.
I'm not sold that hiring Waldron means we are keeping Fields. We may get more of a hint as Waldron starts to fill out the offensive staff.
Another spin on this is what the guy is talking about in the following video. If Waldron is successful here, is he Flus' successor? That starts about 4:20 in the video.

Yep. I agree. Waldron doesn't really provide any real insight into the QB decision. You could say that he has fixed other QBs and so they brought him in to fix Fields. That would be valid. You could also say that they are bringing in a new OC because they want a fresh start on the QB. Also valid.

+1 I agree it may not mean Fields stays.
In fact, im leaning to Walrdon coming here cos we have no. 1 pick. No matter what we say around here, seems that Waldron was a sought after OC, even oggling some HC spots. So, I believe this guy came here so he could shine with rookie QB and get a HC job in a year or two, either Chicago or somewhere else.
The OC process was run by Poles. Few of the guys they interviewed had any appreciable connection to Flus. That was one of the reasons I wanted to can Flus -- he has little pull in the NFL among good OC candidates.
"Just be quiet and old my beer, Matt"
How do we know this?
We don't know but we can make a good guess.
A) Poles explicitly said he was going to be involved. B) Most of the OC interviewees were not Flus' connections.
Been saying it since Mtich. Team does not go all in to support their young qb's. Tey'll make 1/2 hearted attempts that get cut short to focus on the def. Draft mitch, next year trade the farm to get a DE for a def that was already good. JF sorry man, you did good enough w/the garbage we're going to fix the def for the def minded HC we brought in to develop you, here's a #1 and a RT though; that should be fine, it worked so well w/Mitch.
It's all the time w/this team; and it's maddening; and obvious when they do it, yet the fans have faith that somehow it will be different. This year pretty much played out like I thought; and it's maddening.
Honestly with the right QB. AKA Watson instead of Trubisky. We would of won the Super Bowl in 2018. When Mack came in. He did transform that defense into something special.
As much as I love defense games and elite defenses. The modern NFL is a pass first league. This offseason needs to be focus around building Williams a top 10 offense.
He isn't wrong. The Nagy gimmick O stopped working about week 10 that year. We won the rest of the way out on defense.
In the playoff game, we scored only one TD at home and Mitch had like 100 yards and 2 INTs.

zero shot. but we've been over this 1000x's. keep believing in your delusion, i no longer give a shit.

I was at that playoff game. Mitch was awful.
I was also at the night game we beat the Rams. Mitch sucked that day too.
He wasn't good at all past about week 10 that year and that D was good enough to win games with only a decent QB.

The O wasn't. Again, what did Longs brother tell him. The team was to soft. Stop fooling yourself into thinking it was the QB, the team wasn't good enough. The OL wasn't good enough the WR's weren't good enough and correct the QB wasn't either. Watson wasn't doing shit w/the garbage he would have had to throw to here.
But again, keep deluding yourself, it's not on me i don't care; but it's that kind of backward thinking got us Fields and nothing but Moore.
