You have to wait and see how he finishes the season. If he proves himself to be worth keeping and using next year then you offer him a minimum contract for a couple years. He's most likely only going to be a back up so he should only be paid that. The guy couldn't even make it as back up for any other team in the league so you can't pay him much.
Yell ya if PFF has him graded high enough you have to offer him a good contract, until we know what PFF knows how can you make a decision right?
and remember pff is just short for pffffffffffffffffffffffffft
I am not saying he would be worth 6M guaranteed but rather that is what it really might take to best another desperate team's offer.
First off the Bears aren't going to give him big money and or a LTC and they sure aren't going to do anything until spring. And if some of rumors going around are true the kids not even interested in sighing with the Bears. If that is true and he is showcasing himself for other teams, that alone makes him way too smart a player to be the next Bears QB
gotta agree w/JABF, you don't offer him anything yet, he's got a few more games to see what he can do, specifically out in bad weather. If he doesn't have an arm capable of throwing in bad weather, then you cannot offer him anything. If he again can only muster 10 points in this O, then you cannot offer him anything. If he is able to throw in bad weather and continue to help create scoring drives then ya you make him a legit offer, and you do it before FA.
Bad weather yes . The high temp forecast for this Sunday is - 1 with an unknown wind chill ( but it'll probably be - 10 at least ) . So he'll prove his manhood this Sunday just by going out there and finishing the game . Playing fb is tough enough when it's warm - when it's cold it's medieval brutality .

What's the hate for PFF?
It's mostly garbage made up bs that turns guys like Webb and Shea into studs, and really only good for teams that can take the information from geeks that don't know football and add it into the inside information they already have.
