Anyone finding they're warming to the Bears drafting Caleb?

Dear God no.

The Rex vs Orton wars in retrospect were an argument over who was the tallest midget.  No matter which side you think "won", everyone lost and was dumber for that debate.  Both weren't good enough.  Orton at least had a semi-decent career post Bears whereas Rex was out of the league, but Orton still was at best a backup, and neither were worth the debate over who should be the QB of the franchise.

As for JF vs CW - I dove in head first over on the CCS and on Twitter on the side of Justin, but honestly, the whole thing started giving me PTSD over how things went with Rex vs Orton, so I started withdrawing from it on Twitter, and manned up and admitted defeat on CCS.

Although, had I known what I know now about CW then, I don't think I would have been as solidly in Fields' camp - there are just things I have seen Williams do that Fields doesn't do yet (I won't say can't, because I don't think Fields ever had solid coaching on the Bears), and I don't mean all the "wow" plays - I saw Justin do all those and do them better - but more the mundane things you would think every QB should be able to do within structure that somehow eluded Fields this whole time.

It really makes it feel like Williams is more of the complete package.

I was all in on Fields this year, really thought he could make the jump; just didn't happen. You aren't wrong, all the tools are there; but there seems to be a mental block and w/the ability to draft the top qb in a good qb class there isn't a reason to keep on w/him. 

Hope he figures it out, just not sure he will; I'd sooner take mechanical issues over mental ones. 

Yeah some of it was strange play calling as JF1 had some of the best midrange center of the field numbers in 22 and then Getsy seemed to never call them in 23. Partly due to sad Center position (& Nate Davis being super) and not having a pocket to step up into. Being a run 1st offense and some on JF1 too (I guess haha still defending him but wanted him to work SO bad ;-) Poles has put the Bears in a much better position to change that in 2024.
