That is the current plan, but he is pushing for an 8th round in the draft. He knows he can get even more players

They would love this plan. There also was a famous paper by a pair of economists who claimed that 7th round picks were undervalued and teams should work to get more 7th round picks. Weird that no NFL team tried to hire them to consult with their FO.

Now that we have traded JF, I hope to God that Poles does not trade out of the first pick. Take your QB. If he trades out of this, then all of it is for nothing IMO

Unless he’s convinced there is someone else better than CW and JF, he could trade out of #1 to #2, get some picks and still get his guy.

He's not trading down. Its 100% Williams going forward as it has always been since Fields is only a backup caliber QB.

I predicted the Fields trade and his value. So many here said he was a starter and going to be the future of Chicago.

It seems that the Bears may select Caleb Williams in the upcoming draft. If that's the case, let's wish him the very best in his future as the Bears QB if that is the case. I still have my doubts about him, but I want him to succeed.

I was hoping I could post a snippet but I am not sure if Sportsmockery will not let me or it's because I am at work on "incognito" mode.

Anyways Robert Schmitz of Da Bears Blog went through a lot of C.Wills tapes and found that the "holding the ball" too long was not because he was not sure where to throw to but he was avoiding the rushers waiting for his receivers to get open. And only scrambles down field when he has no other option. Reading this it does remind me of those stupid scrambles that we have had to endure watching A.Rod dissect our defense.

If C.Will does this with our receivers, it will be a fun season to watch.
