Are we sure that any or may even all of this stuff was manufactured by the media and by idiots on social media?
I’m sure, because the story makes no logical sense. As I said, if Bears don’t draft him, the Commanders are next in line. How could he prefer that fate?
+1,000 He'd be better off on the 2024 version of the Bears than the 2024 version of the Washington Commanders - and it's not even close.
Yeah, but we gotta let stuff go or it can sour life. I figure time to move on.
I agree, but some of us let stuff go slower than others.
I agree, and I struggle a lot letting stuff go. I do. But I am in a similar situation as you, David, I am the last guy living from my immediate family. Pretty much everyone on my dad's side is dead. The guys seem to die young in my family too. So I am soooooooooooooo trying to live a relatively healthy lifestyle and not let worries/stress harm my health - emotional or physical health. I was as upset as anyone with the end of our season. But I am trying to look for the positive stuff now... not delusional stuff, but legitimately good things this team has going for it. I do believe Poles is holding some good cards right now. And if he plays them right this could actually pan out with a 2025 super bowl ready team. I don't think that's off the table by any means. That alone has me hopeful.
Past misses in the draft are tough. The Mahomes miss was killer tough. But I just try to be intentional about letting it all go. LOL, it isn't easy but I am determined :-)
Exactly. He doesn't hold any cards. His agent needs to explain to him what can happen to his bank account if he plays in college another year and gets a significant injury.

Didn't we hear something like this about Williams a month ago?

He is from the Washington area so ya I think he wants that.

I didn't realize he was from there. Then maybe he does want to play there. There's no way he goes back to college unless he is so stupid he's too ignorant to be an NFL quarterback anyway. Next year he would still be drafted by the team with the high pick, right? And if he went back to college he risks an injury hurting his NFL value.

I have to believe that Washington would be willing to pay an extra premium for the rights to him. Washington are still trying to lure people back to the games, remember there was a big fan base protest to the old ownership.
So what would bring people back more then a home grown "generational talent?" It would be a franchise turning event really.
Maybe we can stop setting our hair on fire and running around like crazy people all the time? This was never in doubt.
I keep wondering if that social media anti-Bears stuff is accurate or just bogus. The Bears will figure it out. I'm trying to keep an open mind on Williams. I'm admitting I am biased in favor of Fields. But if it is best to draft Williams or another quarterback in this draft, hey, I am okay with that. Just get it right this time.

I just hope that Warren and Poles are both (1) as good at their jobs that I think/hope they are and (2) aggressively go at the offseason and bring in the best possible additions to the staff and the roster.
If they want to move on from Fields and go after a QB with the first pick, it's fine with me. If they feel that they have something close to a franchise QB in Fields and want to do the trade down dance, great.
I just hope to see at least a 3 or 4 win improvement in our W/L record over the next two years.

That's my take on it too. Heck, I don't know what's best. But hopefully those two guys do, right? :-)
