The defense measurably improved with Rod Maronelli when he moved to DC even though it was Lovie's defense. It can make a big difference. DCs do a lot more than just call plays.
That's fine Matt just needs to call the plays during the game like he did when Williams got sacked or quit or whatever you want to call it.
