With no second interviews and no action, it is sure starting to look like Kubiak is their guy. If that's who they think is the best guy, that's fine, but Purdy did not look as polished as Love to me tonight. Also, I would have wanted someone with more play calling experience. For the OC, I am more interested in play calling creativity, scheming around the players on the roster and the ability to adjust. Developing the QB can be done as the passing coordinator or QB, IMO. I just don't think he has done enough of it to be comfortable he is the guy (at least for me). I think another one of those "we are the smartest guys in the room" things reaching for another young guy to be the next OC league stud.
Of course, all speculation until they pick someone.
If they don't make a hire this week, I would agree -- its gonna be Kubiak.
I think they should make Waldron OC and Kingsbury QB coach instead of waiting.

That would be a great move. If they could pull that off it would be the best way forward. Even if it failed it at least would have been a move that made sense. Also, you are setting up a backup for Waldron if he did get an HC job in the furture... just reload with Kingsbury and keep your schemes intact.
Kubiak could be a good option (I like him too) but that Waldron/Kingsbury duo would be pure awesome.

If Kingsbury is hired as QB coach or "pass coordinator", that tells you Caleb is almost for sure the QB.

+1 I was thinking that too. I would think it would be a humbling experience for him to go from an NFL head coach gig just 2 years ago to being a QB coach/pass-coordinator. Surely he would want an OC position. But who knows, right?

Know of him well since was HC here in AZ. He's a talented offensive mind but had a horrid final year here in 2022 in which the relationship between him and Kyler Murray became toxic.
Lots of guys fail 1st time as a HC and I think KK will be a HC again some day. In the meantime, he's gonna have to work his way back up the ladder. He's a college QB coach right now so he doesn't need a direct promotion to NFL OC yet.

I don't really want to enter a strong opinion on anything I don't know a lot about but I like how Waldron has improved several QBs. But again, I think that more falls on the passing coordinator or QB coach. I want an OC that can run a creative, aggressive, hard to defend offense. I simply don't know if that is the case with him or not
