adding to JABF's post above, what track record of OC's are you talking about? One guy does not make for a track record. Let's see how his second hire works out. It takes two points to define a line, more than that for a trend....
How about if we add a DC in there?
It was definitely unfortunate. But to be honest, at the time they were hired most people thought they were great hires.
People were sooooooooooooooooooooo pumped that we had Luke Getsy. This messageboard was pumped too.
LINK "The Chicago Bears new coaching staff is starting to fill out under Matt Eberflus. To fill the offensive coordinator role, Eberflus picked Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Luke Getsy. With fans and experts praising this hire"

Yeah, I remember a post that said something like they couldn't wait to beat the packers with their own stick. Hah, we let them beat us with their old stick.

Yeah. It's okay to not care for keeping Eberflus, but don't try to revise history to discredit the guy.

Everyone was concern with Gesty hire. Dude was the QB Coach of Aaron Rodgers...
We all knew he did nothing for Rodgers and he never called a single offensive play for the Packers. It was a bad hire all around.
In hindsight Eberflus should have hired an experienced OC from the get-go. The funny part is he hired a DC who already did it beforehand and that's the area he should have gambled on a novice up and Comer? Defense is his area of expertise so he could have guided the guy and oversaw it himself.
You would think he would have had an already qualified coach on the side of the ball he knew nothing about, where he definitely should have stayed hands off, and been able to trust his hire could take care of things as well as Matt could on the D?
If I am Ryan Poles, todays playoff game between GB & Dallas only solidifies and reinforces my inclination to draft Caleb and trade Fields.
Fully admit I was wrong about Love. He's legit good in year 1 and only going to improve going forward.
Bears are about to buried at/near the bottom of the division for the next 15 years YET AGAIN because they can't keep pace at QB. We need better than we have. Way better. Gotta take a shot at an elite prospect with #1 pick.

Watching Love play is depressing. Yet another superstar QB in GB. Ridiculous

Yep. How they went from trading for Favre, to drafting Rodgers and then Love is simply amazing. I wish the Bears had the same scouting dept. as Green Bay.
