Young threw for 312 yards with 2 TDs against the Packers... With no DJ Moore btw.... The fact Fields did 148 yards which is less than half is a joke...
The worst team in the league did better than Fields. We need better.
I didn't see the game, but in order to do that, I suspect he didn't have green and yellow jerseys hanging on him
+1 Fields had a bad outing for sure. But I doubt any QB would have been able to function today with the crazy game plan, play calling, almost non-existent blocking.

You and motm drive me nuts with this total passing yards as the only relevant consideration. What we don’t know is how many yards he’d have next year with a GOOD offensive line and Harrison. That’s the fundamental difference between the some of us and you guys.

Bryce Young doesn’t have Fields’ size or mobility. He would have been carried off the field in the first half the way the Bears OL performed. He also has more than one reliable WR.

A 2-15 team that has an even worse Offense than us produce NFL quality performance. Packers still beat them but he did shine.

You owe it to yourself to look at the OL blocking grades on that Panthers game, versus the Bears OL grades from yesterday. Holy cow. Night-and-day difference. Panthers OL got it done that day. Bears? Wright had a good game, but everyone else blew chunks. Nate Davis had a blocking score less than 50. Whitehair had an overall blocking score of 41.2 (turnstile stuff). Braxton Jones blew chunks in that game (34.4 pass blocking & they were even giving him TE help) - and the vaunted Kevin Jenkins scored a 19.8 in that game (that's not a typo).
Panthers protected their guy in that game. Bears? It was one of the worst offensive line performances I have seen from ANY team in a long long time. D guys were in the backfield with the snap and on Fields before - even he - could run for his life. On Fields like fire ants. All. Game. Long.

ok, I know everyone talks about Caleb, but as far as a pure passer, Michael Pinex looks really good to me.
Butkus, you got any inside info on this kid? He has a hell of a line he plays behind but seems successful thoughout his career. Do his injuries worry you?

Kreutz says the OL fell apart in this game because the center is the signal caller who sets the signals, and Bears were playing with a 3rd string center.

He sure knows more than I ever will, but boy, it was a train wreck

I've been looking at several of the top rated QB prospects for the draft. I am not convinced that Williams is the best prospect. I agree that Penix has some great numbers. But currently, I kind of like Bo Nix most of all. Maybe not as good a passer but his overall stats look better to me. But that may very well change.

I don’t know much about this stuff, but I think the center has to direct who is going to block whom as the defense is shifting around pre-snap. If there is confusion, there is no coordination. Jenkins is a very good blocker normally, but guys need to be clear about assignments. He also said Fields ran himself into the sack credited to Brax. Anyway, this is a better offensive line than we saw Sunday. They just were not working as a unit.
I also think the Packers DL was playing with more energy and urgency in a must-win game.
