The top 3, from what I can see because I won't pay for PFF are in the mid 80's overall and none of them are a rookie, so perhaps you need to adjust your expectations.
I don't care why Wrights grade is higher...I just care that its higher. Last time I checked run blocking was an important job for a right tackle.
I wasn’t comparing him to the top-3. I was comparing him to Dawand Jones on pass blocking. Not saying run blocking is unimportant, but all the urgency around here before the draft was we need a right tackle to protect Fields. He’s given up more sacks than any rookie drafted this year. My other point is that Jones in second round would have given Fields more protection and fewer penalties, plus allowed drafting JSN to give Fields a second WR to complement Moore. If the idea of the draft was “max Fields support” as JABF and others wanted, Poles clearly didn’t do it in draft or FA.
Aye ya yai...I wasn't comparing him to the top 3 either. I said the top 3 are in the mid 80's, which means a grade in the 60's for a rookie isn't out of the ordinary. Further...Jones wasn't even a starter for the Browns originally. It took an injury for him to get playing time, so don't pretend like you knew he was gonna be some stud, because not even the Browns thought that. If it was so obvious he wouldn't have lasted to the second round and he wouldn't have been on the bench to start the season.
You didn't know Jones in the second would have given Fields more protection and fewer penalties and neither did the Browns. Stop it with the revisionist history.
I've seen coaches do it too. Getsy is allowed to be in Fields ear until there is 15 seconds on the clock...shouldn't the coach know more than anyone whether a play will work or not?
He knew the play would not work. He didn’t care. They just wanted to run into that brick wall to take time off the clock.
If this is the case, Fields calls a time out, Getsy sends in a similar/same play — waste of a time out … following the logic.
I don't need to do my quick check again because as I stated in the post you quoted "I don't know what their PFF grades are, but a quick check overall says Wright grades out better than Jones."

Now I'm no math major, but last I checked 60.8 was a better grade than 60.1...is it not? You want the higher number when it comes to grades...right?
The 0.7 overall difference (which is pretty small difference) is due to the fact that Wright is a much better run blocker. Otherwise, his overall would be well UNDER 60. Even so, 60.8 not too impressive for a guy drafted #9. I was expecting more from Cross, too.
You're expectations for rookie tackles are too great. They don't come into the leagues immediate studs. An above average grade is reasonable for a rookie drafted in any round. For a top OT pick, you want to see them pick it up going into year 2 and sustain that success.

It is fair to compare rookies to other rookies at the same position. Brax was also better than him at this point of his rookie year last season, and he is 82.7 pass blocking this year.
Im starting to think these bastards are tanking. Im not sure how, as it seems super risky doing it like this, but im not sure they could be such idiots. Could they be?

They are and have proven it so beyond a reasonable doubt…
