I do like what they are doing in Detroit. They are about halfway to where they ultimately need to be. But I think they will get there. They are doing what I would have liked seeing the Bears do. They brought in an offensive head coach. They seem to have built strong lines on both sides of the ball.
They are ascending.
They are clearly not the complete team they ultimately need to be but they seem to be on their way getting there. The Bears? Don't get me started. We will be starting over in 2024. Again.
You okay JABF? you're very down in the dumps today. Take a pill or two and relax man!
It's just "that time of the season" for me. I realize each year, by about this point in the season, that the Bears are still hopelessly broken. And actually, the broken part I can take. But what is worse is realizing they don't seem to be any closer to fixing anything - beyond a band-aid here or a duct tape thing there. You step back and realize we just are not moving the needle here. Again.
It's every year for me about this time. I'm usually an optimist. I really am. But at some point you have to accept the Bears-reality. Same stuff. Different year. Not much hope for things getting better.
The Lions record in 2021 was 3-13-1. The Bears won twice as many games as the Lions in 2021. Now fast-forward two years to today, and look at where these two teams have gone. Lions demonstrated what can be done in just two years from a worse starting record than the Bears. The difference is that Lions have a competent GM and HC, while the Bears do not.

I’m not even confident yet that Warren will clean house.
If not, we’ll just have to hope that next QB is All Pro caliber paired with Moore and Harrison, Jr. With that plus the Bears strong running game, the offense wil be pretty good with OL of Brax, Jenkins, [new center], Davis,Wight. We will have to try to outscore opponents until the defense is fixed. But that’s the ordering you want anyway. The only way this plan gets F’ed up is if Poles trades down the #1 pick and drafts more guys like Stevenson, V. Jones, Dexter, Robinson., etc., Etc., etc. with his so-called “haul” of draft picks.
