The CHGO pod went over Poles' record yesterday in their show.
As they put it: "it's not exactly worthy of a pay raise".
And I think we need to keep in mind that Poles chose Flus and has been enthusiastic about him. Its been only two years so I generally am inclined to give Poles the benefit of the doubt, but yeash he's had some real clunker moves thus far.
For example, how's that exchanging Roquan for Edmunds thing looking? Passing on Pickens? Was Dexter a wise choice?
Thats b/c they also believed that this team had talent. They have started to believe they over evaluated how good it actually is, and that is on Poles. I agree cannot be mad about Roquan, he didn't want to be here, and he made it clear, and he was smart to do it, he got moved to a winning team and off this shit show.
This team is in serious need of starting upgrades and depth at every position and that falls on Poles, not just Flus.
Starting quality players on the O
OL
Wright(rookie giving the benefit of the doubt)
Davis(dealing w/mourning)
Jenkins(always injured)
maybe Jones if he can figure it out, but starting to look a lot more like Webb and Borom then a legit starter 100% on Poles thinking he could allow this at LT and just draft a RT.
WR
Moore, that's it. Weak extremely weak group.
TE
*
RB
Maybe RoJo(rookie)
Maybe Herbert, still not convinced he can do it on 3rd and short.
Def(quality starters)
DL
*
LB
T Edmunds (based on what he did w/the Bills)
T Edwards (based on what he did in Philly)
DB
JJohnson (if he can return to form)
Brisker (if he can figure out how to catch)
**Wasn't Johnson drafted b/c he could play man, is he in the wrong the wrong def playing soft zone cover no one?
The rest are all replaceable talent or rookies this entire team is weak, and the majority of these players are Poles and Flus.
Thats why CHGO and H/J's are starting to put some of this on Poles. But Flus and Getsy deserve the lions share of the blame.
Hopefully Warren and Poles(if he stays) find a vet HC w/a good O system to build the team around and look for young coordinators from there.
