I just wanna add that I still believe in miracles and hope that we can turn this around starting next week. As I've said in another thread, last year the Lions started off 1-6 before winning 8 of the next 10 games.
Technically, it's doable. But I won't hold my breath.
Think so too. Before the start of the season my opinion was that after three weeks we would have at least score 1-2. I believed we could win in w1, but we didnt. Now, I hope that in the next two games we have chance for season turnover. But if we fail in that, something has to change urgently. I always draw a conclusion after 5 or 6 week.
broken record time, Poles. I said it from the time the Flus hire was reported it was a mistake and a bad hire. The entire process of building this team then went to a very lopsided amount of early FA and early draft going to the D instead of Fields.
Might well have not changed anything, Fields is honestly looking like a worse qb then Trubisky at this point. Getsy is looking like a worse playcaller then Nagy. This is all basackwards from the reality of what those 2 teams looked like; on paper. But again, the play on the field tells you this team is not full of NFL playoff talented players. Its full of mid/replaceable players.
Hearing post game, it sounds like there is still issues w/players not lining up correctly on plays. How is it you have multiple people playing that don't know the playbook?!?!?
A GM that hires a bad HC who hires a bad OC/DC is a sign of a bad GM. Poles deserves to be shown the door as much as anyone he hired.
You look at this tweet and tell me its not on poles. The guy has to go.
I'd say thats more an indictment on Flus actually. He's a defensive coach who's gotten some talent to work with on defense and it sucks.
I think this is my thought too. Obviously there is blame to go around to everyone. But I feel like this coaching staff has not gotten the best out of the players given to them.
On a side note I'm getting ready to make the long drive back home to Illinois with Mrs JABF now. In spite of the loss we had a great weekend with our kids who came here... gotta love family time. We are pretty scattered now around the country so getting together like this is always special. Take care... the Bears will eventually turn this thing around. Gotta hope for the best anyway. Doesn't do any good to let a sports team get ya down too much. There are far more important things in life than that.

I don't disagree but at the same time. You have a young QB who looked promising, refused to really give him much help and shocked that he's still struggling?
Enough with the excuses!!!!
Yes, the coaching sucks, we all agree. Fields is simply not getting the job done regardless. He's literally a bottom-5 QB at this point. Dobbs, Pickett, and Stroud are all outplaying him and I guarantee you those guys don't have much talent around them. I follow AZ carefully and they are LESS TALENTED than the Bears. Maybe Fields is barely ahead of Ridder and Howell, maybe.
That's about it. How many sub-100 yards passing games has he had by now? There's no more excuses for Justin Fields to be this inept in year 3.
Flus and Co. are gonna be canned in January for sure, deservedly so as both have sucked. Hire a new offensive-minded HC with experience developing QBs and draft Fields replacement.
My Fields-o-Meter is down to a 15 on the 0-100 scale. He's gonna have to show me a ton soon otherwise I am OUT ON HIM (and Flutsy).

To me, whats happening with Fields this season is beyond "no help". There is more talent on the offense than there was last year...by a lot. This is a coaching letdown of the highest degree. I don't understand much of anything they're doing on offense at all.

None of these guys Poles brought in are as good as the guys they replaced. Take Edmunds, for example. I watched the whole Ravens game today. Roquan was all over the place, making key stops. And what other free agent he brought in has impressed you? Eberflus should be fired, but I want Poles to be first out the door.
Poles job is to acquire talent. On paper he did that. Flus has input on that talent. Its Flus' job to get that talent to perform. You can't say with a straight face that he didn't bring in proven talent.

The game isn’t played on paper. Players with exceptional talent like Butkus and Sayers on the 1965 team can excel even on a poor team. There are not many of that caliber around, and certainly not for 95% of the “meh” players Poles brought in. All others will perform at a higher level on a good team than on a bad team.

Again, you can't say with a straight face Poles didn't bring in proven talent or be considered serious if you do.

Every single player he brought in from FA have been a bust so far. He overpayed for two LBs while he could of pay Roquan Smith his money to have much better performance. He refused to address the lines on both offense and defense.
Outside of DJ Moore which we traded the #1 overall pick for. Has poles made any improvements to the roster in 2 years?
