Listening to Fields presser, I just feel like this guy is overwhelmed. Saying shit like he said today, in year 3, should be embarassing for him, but I guess hes not smart enough to realize it. I understand that he wants to share the blame, but all the things he is saying just makes me more and more sure he is not the guy. Watch the presser, guy is in no mental state to be a starting NFL QB, let alone be a star like he was advertised.
Alex, I'm at work and can't watch it right now. What did he say?
I read its open war between him and the coaching staff and he said he's playing HIS way from now on. Correct or not?
In a sense, absolutely. He is not being direct, of course, cos I fear this guy is lacking balls. But yes, he is saying info is good and all, but he needs to play his game, and play FREE. (word he used)

I also read Flus defended the inane play calls. It sounds like the blame game is in full swing.
Honestly, after having watched this I think he's done in Chicago and the NFL.
Even IF the coaches were responsible for 100% of the struggles, you should never throw your coaches under the bus like that in public. You deal w/ your problems privately. This right there is proof to me that Fields totally lacks leadership skills and probably never will be a leader on the field and in the locker room. What an embarrassing presser.
And to think that many fans criticized Cutler for his behavior towards coaches and upper management....

Yup. He is probably right, but he should NEVER have said it in public. Total lack of leadership there. That is my final nail in his coffin. I'm done with him now.

TBH im disappointed, cant and wont lie. Expected more, this is no kid, almost 25y, thought he was a winner, mentally. For a guy so unproven to have a presser like this... damn. But like I already said, maybe even in this thread, imo he thinks too much about his swagger, not really important things, things that elevate people around him, franchise, fans. And it usually does not work out for that kind of guys.

I see this differently. Frankly good for Fields.
You know those movies where the hero starts strong, hits a massive roadblock, but then comes back even more powerful by the end? I still believe that is what is in store for Justin Fields. Last season, we saw our hero rise. Fields was tearing it up, playing by instinct, and making us believe. This season, with the playbook changes, it feels like he's in that tough middle part of the story. The part where the hero's trying to find his way, wrestling with his identity.
But here's the thing about those hero stories: they don't end in the middle. The hero fights through, learns, and comes out on top. Fields is our guy, and he's in the middle of his journey. The climax? It's coming. Let's back him up during this chapter, so we're all there cheering when he reaches the triumphant end of his tale. Bear Down!

So hero mentions others as possible root of the problems? Apparently we watched different flicks, Carolco or Cannon heros dont do that shit. He lost a lot today.

I loved the honesty. It's exactly what we have been talking about on this messageboard. I don't think he was out of line at all. That was sure a lot better than the crap Eberflus tries to shovel down our throats about all the good stuff going on (the pressers after these losses) where the guy is just delusional at best and dishonest at worst. Fields is a breath of fresh air there. The NFL isn't stupid. They see how inept this franchise is in general - and the coaching staff in particular. The teams they are putting out there on gameday are not prepared to play. The play calling is horrific bad (the opposing teams comment on how easy it was to know what the Bear were about to do on plays). It's a clown show. We know it. The NFL knows it too.
