I have become interested in Terrell Lewis. He had an excellent training camp, and even beat Wright three times pass rushing in minicamp. It carried over to preseason games, where has had two strip sacks on QB by speed rushing to the backside like K. Mack likes to do. I can’t understand why the depth chart has him behind D. Robinson who has really not done much since early last season. Lewis should be getting more playing time than Robinson, unless something changes.

thats why I said, watch how the season plays out. Could be they see DR as a safer all around run stop/pass rush option and Lewis as a pass rusher specialty.

9 pass attempts MP. NINE. There is a slight difference. Wanna guess how many starters had less than 10? This isn't predictive, this is predetermined; and its a huge difference between 2 guys splitting snaps. Playing matters, trying to determine what the coaches wanted to see to move players up and down the roster is pointless. This doesn't contradict or differentiate from what I have ever said.
W/that if you were trying to predict, you'd say he's the backup or destined for PS, and the other qb's were fighting for the starting spot. Or, his career to this point was so solidified that he is beyond need of pre season (this rarely/doesn't happen).

I'll put it this way:
I'm sure we will see some improvement overall in the defense and particularly the pass rush (which was historically bad last season). Anything beyond mediocre is gravy in my mind.
This season is 95% about Fields and the passing game -- saw a stat where the Bears were 20th or worse in passing something crazy like 17 of the last 22 seasons. I'm with Hoge -- I want Fields getting 4000 combined yards between throwing and running. That's the floor he needs to hit in my mind. I'm sick of watching an inept passing game where we are 28th or worse in the league.
Flus said yesterday that only Jenkins is in doubt for opening day. So, minus one guard, the offense should be full strength. No more excuses.
