I don't get the negative vibes. I think Poles has done a good job so far. I don't think we get Edmunds and Edwards 1 year ago...
For the most part I think we're all being pretty rational. I would have liked more emphasis put on the offensive and defensive lines, but I get the thinking, I think, from Poles and crew. This is not a great linebacker draft, and its a great linebacker class of free agents. He signed 2 guys for essentially what it would have cost to sign Roquan and that position is now set for the forseeable future. The draft is deep in defensive lineman, so he's not going to overpay for older guys or guys who require a good amount of projection because they don't have a history of production. He'll wait for prices to come down and maybe that lands a solid pass rusher like Yannick, and/or he'll draft the position.
Thing is, until something leaks, and we know from what camp it did, we won't know what the offer was. The best rational you can use is this; Poles has a set amount he's willing to give someone, and if that isn't enough, they are free to find it elsewhere. For all the guys we "didn't get" we'll never know if they were even on the radar for Poles, but if they were and they aren't here know that it was b/c the cost didn't meet with what Poles wanted and he moved on.

I'm okay w/that from the GM.
Yes, the rational side of me appreciates that disciplined approach. The meatball fan in me wants him to sign everyone. Overall I like his approach though. He's added a LEGIT 5 starters to this team and solved one of its biggest problems...an Alpha #1 receiver. There are still lots of options left to improve the offensive and defensive lines.

That's pretty much me too. Like the kid in a candy store, I want it all. I read a post saying how great it would be to get player "A" and I'm all in. Then another post says we need some other player... I look up stuff about him and I want that guy. We'd need 40 draft picks to execute my plan for the Bears (LOL most in the 1st round :-)
