I know we're not officially in the offseason, but the Bears essentially are and I'm seeing tweets that really aren't worth starting individual threads over, so decided to create the thread to dump and discuss random offseason tweets.
I thought this was interesting. I hadn't thought about the possibility of the #1 pick being traded prior to the draft. I'd be curious how far in advance those previous trades were done.

Wow, really? No team since way way back in 2021-2022? That's one heck of a long time since anybody did that!
Seriously though, I don't think anybody is kidding themselves on how far we have to go.

Thanks for starting this thread. I'm going to sticky it for all of us.

Yeah, definitely a ton of work to do, but I saw a stat saying we were 1-7 in one score games. So, despite an enormous lack of talent all around, we were still competitive in a lot of games. Makes me think that even a modest influx of talent could lead to a few more wins next year. If Poles nails it on a couple studs for each side of the ball, we may not be as far away from playoff contention as some think.

Agreed, and let's not forget, it turned out we had the most difficult schedule of any team. We do have a long way to go, but we're closer than we think we are. 10 losses in a row clouds judgement.

Some people might think we have rocks for brains.
Yeah, they take schist for granite. Geologists know the difference. You know I have an Apatite for Py,rite? And I'm not talking fool's gold. Actually, having a box of rocks can be pretty smart, if they're the right rocks. I'm hoping Poles can mine the right rocks, and not haul in a load of Leaverite.
For all you non-geologists who might still be reading this, Leaverite is a slang term for a worthless rock. It means "Leave her right" there.

Yeah, I'm hoping Poles can find a few gems in the draft and FA. No more polished coprolite.
