If Fields "hits" in 2023, I expect this team to be a playoff-caliber, deep-run-capable unit in 2024. We have a full boat of draft pick plus an extra 1st and extra 4th next offseason. We also have cap space to make a few key signings if needed. These are the reasons you "tear down" and "tank". We replaced 1/2 the roster this offseason and will upgrade another 1/4 next.
If Fields succeeds this year, Poles needs to have this team ready to be division champs in 2024 and legit SB team no later than 2025. Very preliminary but looks like next offseason should be about acquiring pass rush and an elite offensive weapon (Marvin Harrison, Jr?).
All that goes out the window of course if Fields doesn't take another big step forward this season.
Defensive front-7 should be the focus in 2024. Everyone will want Harrison. I am not offering two FRP for him. Besides, whatever team is positioned to draft him would be stupid to trade him away.
Way too early to say. If Carolina sucks this year, we could have a top-10 or even top-5 pick. In a draft where multiple QBs will go high. He could fall right into our lap.
Regardless, way too soon to worry about that. Fields has to become that franchise QB first. Otherwise, this is all an academic discussion only.
For those clamoring for a center, Washington just released this guy:
10. Chase Roullier, Washington Commanders
Roullier has steadily improved his overall PFF grade in each of his first five NFL seasons out of Wyoming, jumping from 64.4 as a rookie to 83.7 last year before going down with a broken leg in Week 8. Over the last two seasons, Roullier grades out in the 90th percentile of all qualifying centers in PFF pass-blocking grade and the 89th percentile as a run-blocker on zone runs. His return from injury in 2022 should boost a Washington offensive line that will have to overcome the loss of Brandon Scherff.
Sign me up. This is the kind of lost dog that Poles ought to take in.
The 2021 Georgia defense has had 14 players drafted into NFL, and 7 were first round. They are the “farm club” of the Eagles. The Eagles defense this season will be awesome.

They have a lot of talent. The last 6 seasons they have 3 division championships, two NFC championships (so 2 Super Bowl appearances) and a Super Bowl win. Great franchise. They have a solid franchise QB too. It is so very different than where the Bears are with a GM and coaching staff just coming off their rookie season, a 3-win season. Polar opposites. Their roster is stacked with great talent. The Bears are in their 1st year of a major rebuild of their roster. Let's hope Poles can build something great here, but there is a ton of work to do.

Eagles are a good model for Bears offense. Hurts and Fields are similar QBs and both teams run the ball.
The schedule is out! 11 of 17 Bears opponents had losing records.
I just drank a half cup of kook-aid and predict Bears go
Best to place it here: Carter just can't stop doing stupid things:
All that guy needed was to play it cool for 5-10y and he would be set for life, as well as his grankids.. but nooo, has to be immature right now. Sad tbh.

I am so thankful Poles passed on Carter. He must have a screw loose in his head. What a bad look for the Eagles here. For that matter I can't imagine the NFL wanting this look... glorifying the Bloods Gang who have murdered countless thousands over the years and are into major drug trafficking. davidl I'll bet you're thankful Seattle passed on him too. How would you like Jalen Carter as the face of your franchise?

I gotta be honest...other than wearing the color red, there is nothing here suggesting he's repping the Bloods gang. And unfortunately reading that guys twitter feed, I'm not sure he's the best source of info.

Did you read through some of the comments posted under the video? To say the least, there are different perspectives on this 13-second video. Let the players explain it themselves before condemning them. That’s only fair.
