From the eye test, I love Monty bc of his balance. Just the way he can get hit and keep moving. It's obvious as well that he's not explosive, though, with this data (I'll look back at it) is there any any way to tell if he improved last season from his first two seasons? I remember the story about him working on his speed.
Monty is a good RB. He is missing that top acceleration speed gear. Walter Payton never had that gear either. But you don't have to have that to be a valuable RB. He seems to have done well here over the years in spite of a poor OL. Countless times you see him make something out of nothing. At least that's my personal eye-test observation. If they ever get the OL fixed here, and a better coach and offense around him, I think he can be incredible. But he already is a solid asset to the team.

I wouldn't really even say solid. He's an average RB who does nothing special. He's serviceable right now but easily replaceable.
If these stats are true, its looking harder for Monty to stay a Bear.
The stats tell an interesting story and that is he’s average at best. If the team is going to be built on speed, he’s sadly not our guy. I tend to look at and ask myself, is he a starter elsewhere with the higher end teams and truthfully he’s not.
