Haven't seen any new State Farm commercials with him lately either. Maybe he has a grudge cuz Jake got better ratings? Maybe it (finally) won't be long before we never have to look at that stupid smirk face again.
Geebus. How toxic does an organization have to be for this to occur?

Right... it is really a crazy situation. The Green Bay Packers offer to make their QB a 5-year deal (a 2 year extension) that would make him the richest man in the NFL. The highest paid QB in the NFL. The highest paid player in the NFL. The QB, Aaron Rodgers, (arguably) probably has his best opportunity to win a Super Bowl in 2021, with the Packers. He knows the system, scheme, players, coaches, opponents & opposing defenses like the back of his hand. He's not having to adapt to some new team, scheme etc etc etc in another division.
Okay. That's one option for AR. Stay with the team that owns the Division each year and has a legit chance to win a SB - all while being made the richest man in the NFL.
Or, sit this season and LOSE $35-million dollars, all because he is pissed the team had the audacity to draft a player without consulting him. LOL. Really? It makes Aaron Rodgers look like a crazy-grudge-holder ass. Can he do this? Certainly. Should he do this? LOL, probably not. I think some of these headcase divas are pure nutcases.
Can Rodgers "hurt" Green Bay here? Sure. But it's like a fly lands on your bare foot and you kill it with a shotgun. You definitely "hurt" the fly... but blowing off your foot with a shotgun probably isn't the best decision there. But yes, you've got the fly. Crazy stuff we're watching here.
How much is the owning the division basically Aaron Rodgers elevating the team? The Packers are not the same team when Aaron Rodgers is hurt. I bet him seeing Brady take a losing franchise and making them Super Bowl champs their first year with him rub him the wrong way. What do the Packers do?
Draft a QB with their first round pick. Draft a RB with their second round pick. ( His pick becomes far more worthless seeing that Jones got an extension. )
I wouldn't really call the Packers a very competitive team against other major NFC forces. It just so happens that he's in a very weak division with two teams playing old school 1980's football ( Bears and Vikings ) and having a bottom feeder like the Lions. Since the Favre era, the Packers never really had any competition in the NFC North.
Even if he were to sit a year and get traded to another team. I see him playing similar to Brady's age. He's by far the most talented QB in the NFL even at his age but his window is closing fast. Packers should be in win now mode to maximize their Super Bowl window instead they're playing the same game they played the last 20 years. Build for the future which keeps the franchise stable but won't give them a better show of getting a title.
been telling people he's not going to sit out and lose 30 mil. He played his hand the best he could and now he's going to show up.
same w/wilson(who is still in sea).
the only guy that might get traded is Watson, and that's b/c the legal issues have given the team a reason to move on from him; and they are still requiring at least 3 firsts; so even w/that he isn't going to just be given away.

He did get a concession from the team, an out next season. Doesn't bother me either way, as this season is about improving and preparing for next season, when it's 100% Justin Fields team. I wouldn't say that's the teams mentality, but they know it in the back of their minds.

Next season was an easy out for them, and likely when they planned on doing it. This year 30mil cap hit, next year is basically nothing.

Rodgers threw a hissy fit but he ended up getting schooled here. GB held all the cards and Rodgers had nothing to counter with - without taking a horrendous financial hit. Yes, he's rich. But even he would be hurt by $30-$35 million dollars lost this year, and a year of playing time lost at the latter part of his career. The worst part in all of this for Rodgers, is that he's gonna have to swallow his pride and report to camp looking pretty foolish. He's already lost a half million dollars with this - just to look like a dufus cry baby. He lost the respect of a lot of Green Bay fans, judging by the social media posts. Most posting don't back him at all in this.

Wait till they experience life without a hall of fame QB. They've lived a pretty charmed life for the past 2 plus decades.

I agree with you, JABF. Rodgers shouldn't have started all this unless he was prepared to go the distance. I thought he was the rare guy who, for one reason or the other, was gonna put his money where his mouth is. But he wasn't. He was in the end just another loudmouth diva who talks a lot of shit but ultimately meekly caves for the coin.
You're right--he looks petty and weak here. He got owned because he didn't have the balls to back up his own bluster.
Just STFU and play, Aaron. I hope you lose in heartbreaking fashion once again in the playoffs.
For the Bears, 2021 will be yet another season where the best they can do is 2nd in division.

If it is true that one condition of his return is trading for Cobb and I was the Texans, I'd ask for a first in return. If the Texans get anything less than a second, they choked.
Texans: sure, well trade you Cobb. GB: awesome. How about a conditional 6th? Texans: How about a first and a second? GB:....what? You're kidding right? Texans: Nope. You made the deal with Rodgers not us. 1st and a 2nd. GB: we'll get back to you...someone has to call Aaron. (Murphy quickly puts his finger on his nose..)
