I know some people say Langford failed to take over for Forte which is the most ignorant statement i have read today since he has had a grand total of 31 carries in 3 regular season games since Forte has left, and we are talking about replacing Forte...smh
I agree they need to keep rolling with Howard as the #1....then let Langford and Carey fight over the #2 spot.
Why? He was handed the starting job in preseason and once the season began he failed to produce. What's ignorant about that? His ypc are on par with last year which wasn't good enough and his receiving stats are down. He wasn't getting the job done and Howard and Carey are.
NO! He was handed the #1 in a RBBC role....and people expect Forte results in that environment?...that's ignorant imo

I think you read more into it that I intended. I don't know what others expected by I never expected him to be another Matt Forte. I expected him to step up and be whatever Jeremy Langford was and what he showed is that he was no better than the #2 RB he was in 2015. That's my opinion of his game. No more, no less so I don't know what about that could be ignorant. It's fact based and doesn't ignore anything.
I would also say that Fox's RBBC plan was, and has been mostly a myth so far. Even when Langford struggled in the first couple of games and Howard came in and showed he was clearly a more suitable RB for his offense Fox continued to play Langford who got the majority of the touches. We also heard excuses about him being the better pass blocker which I don't believe has proven to be true either.
IMHO both Howard and Carey have proven to me to be the more effective workhorse RBs in this offense and should get the majority of the carries because they'ye earned it. What's that old saying? "The proof is in the pudding". Langford is still there. He'll get more shots at it but he'll need to be more effective than he has been both in 2015 and 2016 before he gets my vote as the lead RB. I don't think that's ignorant either. It's common sense.

Maybe i did, but he has had 31 carries of opportunity to prove himself and you are knocking him for not stepping up, so to say...that's what gets me irked. The entire offense wasn't playing good for the 2 games Langord got, so i'm not passing judgement on him...YET!
I see your view on the RBBC, and agree it has hardly been a RBBC thus far, but it has been more of a who has the hot feet RBBC, which is clearly seen in the Jax and GB games where Howard didn't have his best performances. In those games you see a more split use of the Rb's that they had available and Carey did a great job stepping in and being more successful than Howard in those games.
And of course one could say Howard and Carey earned it...they weren't injured
And in pure speculation, I don't think we know what John Fox's vision of RBBC is, because i feel he hasn't got the duo he wanted in there yet....maybe...I think he went heavy with Langford to start the year until the Rook could pickup more on the playbook, pass protections, etc...Langford went down, and his RBBC plan went out the window until Langford recovered....and of course like the Jax and GB games, maybe RBBC to Fox means start good, and you stay in...start bad, and you're splitting time...idk, we will have to analyze that as the year goes forward.
Quite frankly, the only RBBC I see are the words coming out of Foxes mouth in regards to his RB system preference. I don;t really see it in practice on the field. He seems to have a primary back most of the time and guys spell him every so often. It's what most teams do.
My perception of RBBC is when you keep rotating backs in. You may not even be able to realize who the main guy might be. Pick a back for his strengths in certain situations and just plug and play all game. That is not what he is doing, no matter what he says.

Langford had far more than 31 carries last year and I guess where I'm at with it is I saw the same back this year as I did last. He's not very nifty in close quarters and he lacks the power to break even arm tackles and pickup extra yardage after first contact. That's not a guy I want as my #1 back. I think that's what it comes down to for me.
As a 3rd down type back where he can be used as a receiver and run plays like draws, delays, tosses, and screens I think he can be productive and I hope Loggains will use him that way because he does have that big play ability to score the others don't. He's a guy who should get maybe 5-10 touches a game not 20-30 is all.
EDIT; Actually Carey has been injured but that doesn't impact my opinion.
