Now that Langford is healthy is he the #1 again? I noticed that the Bears depth chart still has him listed as the #1 RB. I'm curious what role Langford will see this second half of the season.
Having no idea what Fox will do since he seems to lack plans all I can give is my opinion of what should happen which is that he become a specialty RB used mostly in the passing game and in other ways that allow him to work in space where he can be more efficient.
I think both Howard and Carey have proven they are the better backs for running a ball control offense and I've thought that all along. Howard has big play potential himself and though Carey may lack that the guy never loses yardage when you ask him to run between the tackles. He always finds a way to gain at least a couple of yards or more.
He's nothing special between the tackles ... occasionally pops one when he gets outside ( but that doesn't happen too often ) so if he wants to be in the conversation , he better up his game . NOW .
My guess is that it will still be RBBC publicly. But as long as Howard is the hot hand at RB, I would expect that he gets the bulk of the work.
It's clear to me now that Fox hasn't a clue what RBBC is. However he does like to talk as though he invented the concept.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who often hears Fox use a lot of words during a presser that aren't necessarily attached to much of anything concrete. I've actually stopped listening to his pressers because he never says anything useful. The players and his staff tell us more than he does. Sometimes he just comes off as an absent minded old man.
Langford is an OK back, and I really think we can sometimes use him in a slot too, because unlike some I believe he knows how to catch it. But, no way hes a starting RB any more. Fox isnt that senile.

LOL Well I was just comparing him to me. Some days I have my shit together and other days I forget where I left it.
If Fox starts him over Howard, it'll be the next Problem forced by bad coaching
I would hope that by now that decision has been put to rest. Langford probably does have a few big plays in him though. Loggains just needs to figure out how to scheme them and when to use them. Langford can definitely smoke some DBs in the open field and score.
