So why in another thread were you boosting EE over Floyd as your reason for needing to draft 3-5 in 2017. Howard isn't quite Elliott but he's not far behind in production.
Posts like this undermine the very reason you try to give for losing to win in order to draft higher. It makes no sense. Can you see that?
The only thing I was "boosting" about was his speed. Still isn't worth taking in the first round. Howard proved that.
You have a better shot at finding a playmaking player in the top 5 than you do in the mid rounds. Tell me how all our mid round 1st picks were in the past 10 years? Exactly not so good...
Why keep repeating history if you know it isn't going to work out?
You seem to be arguing both sides here. You should take a play maker like Elliot in the top 5 because it's tough to find play makers outside of the top 5, but you shouldn't do that because...Howard. Which one is it?
Well...you could Fuller hasn't been good, but he's been hurt, and I think he'd be a better safety. Kyle Long has been a very good mid round pick. As for our success in picking playmakers in the middle of the first, that has more to do with the people picking than the ability of the players. Going back to the Fuller pick we could have drafted Zack Martin, CJ Mosely, Calvin Pryor, Bradin Cooks, Ha Ha, Aaron Donald was chosen right before us. It's a myth you can't get play makers in the middle of the first round...you just have to identify the right one's.

I thought play makers could be found all over the draft? Is that not true now? If it is true than doesn't a playmaker like EE mean you don't know what you are talking about? Does it then mean that if the Bears want a playmaker at QB that they should draft one in the first 5 picks?
What do 2 of the top 5 all time sack leaders have in common? Not drafted in the first round. Does that mean that a playmaking pass rusher doesn't need to be drafted in the first round? I mean you can find them later in the draft. Know what 5 of the top 10 all time sack leaders have in common? Not drafted in the first round. According to you, we don't need to draft a pass rusher in the first round.
Want to talk about other positions and other play makers? You don't even hold to your own arguments, you apply them when you want to push your opinions as fact.

Elliott isn't as huge of a playmaker as many on here think. He's a product of that Oline. Even PFF agrees with that.
The only player you listed that is a true stud was Aaron Donald. You don't find that every day. Von Miller isn't there. A Luke Kuechly isn't there. A Patrick Peterson isn't there...
I can keep going on. The point is franchises need playmakers. Your best shot to get studs are in the top 10.
Luke Kuechly Von Miller Cam Newton Andrew Luck Patrick Peterson Julio Jones Ndamukong Suh Joe Haden Gerald McCoy Aldon Smith Ezekiel Ansah Khalil Mack Anthony Barr
Raiders have Cooper and Mack now. You telling me that franchise would be better off not being in the top 10? Those 2 years?
Lot of these franchises got turn around thanks to 1 player...

What the hell are you talking about??!!! Do you want us to pick in the top 10 or not? Either way here's the thing...the NFL doesn't just hand out top 10 picks because teams want them really bad...you have to SUCK to get them.
Further I could give two shits what PFF thinks about Elliot because I think PFF is garbage. All I know is Dallas had the same line last year and their run game sucked...and now it doesn't. All I know is Elliot can do it all as a running back, get outside, run between the tackles, run on the goal line and score in the open field because he won't get caught from behind...oh yeah and he can block and catch. So you can take PFF's analysis and use it for toilet paper, because thats what it's worth.
Also I totally glanced over the fact you said Zack Martin, and CJ Mosely aren't studs and that Bradin Cooks isn't damn good either! LOL you kidding me? Odell Beckham, Sheldon Richardson, Dontari Poe, Fletcher Cox, Chandler Jones, JJ Watt, Mike Pouncey, Earl Thomas, JPP., Brian Cushing....I could go on and on with the studs and very good players who were drafted in the middle of the first round....just stop it!

Anyone can cherry pick a list. You are also on record as saying Pace can't draft in the first round. In your posted opinion Pace is more likely than not to end up with a guy from list #2.
Statistically speaking having a pick in the top 10 gives you the best chance at landing a difference making player. That doesn't mean that you can't find difference makers anywhere else in the draft. The only thing that does matter over everything anyone has said on here is the Bear's ability to recognize the right player for their team and to use him the right way. If their perfect player is projected to go later in the first then who cares how they finish. Just because they Bears need a QB doesn't mean they need to take the first one off the board and the same can go for other players.

You do realize Cowboys had a 1,000+ yard RB in 2015? That their run game was still strong?
Yet what was truly missing? Oh a QB who has NFL arm Strength...
You may not like PFF but fact is they're becoming relevant to the NFL then ever before.

This has always been one of my favorite loop holes in motm's theories. He loves to talk about how Pace doesn't know how to make good first round picks yet he keeps demanding that the Bears must suck in order to get a higher first round pick. If you have zero faith in Pace's ability to draft in the first round then why would anyone think he couldn't screw up a top 3 pick?

The higher you are in the first round the better chance you have to hit on a stud.
