Yeah...thats a pretty good summation brasilbear. I like Elliot a lot, I would have loved for him to be a Bear, but I am happy with Floyd, and I am happy with Howard. I'd be fine if they drafted Fournette next year, depending as you said, what else is available. If a top tier QB is still available I think we should pick him, or an o-lineman...or a DB(of which I do not think Peppers should be it...he is AWFUL in pass coverage and does not have the hips to be an NFL DB...great return guy, not an NFL DB).

If I were going to take Peppers I don't think I would use him on defense. I would treat him as a special teams and offensive threat similar to Hester. Michigan uses him on offense and he can make some plays.

Hawk...I've watched him since he was a freshman in high school....he's one of the best players I've ever seen with the ball in his hands...and I've seen some good one's here in Jersey. Nobody has been better than him. I've also seen him get torched on defense by d3 level receivers. He insisted on playing defense in college because he would "have a longer career"...which tells you all you need to know about him as a team guy.
I agree...if I were a team drafting him he'd be a return guy and I'd hand him an offensive play book and tell him to learn it.

If we have a shot at drafting Leonard Fournette do we do it? Even though Howard has already proven himself.
If he is truly the BPA at the time, yes you do. By that I mean head and shoulders a better athlete and football player than others available. If Elliot was available when we drafted this year, I would have taken him over Floyd.

what about a legit RB?
Yeah...thats what I would make him if I were drafting him, and I'd use him like the Steelers use Bell. Line him up in the slot, in the backfield, at QB...but I would put him no where...NO WHERE, near the defensive side of the ball.

I think he would be a great guy to draft in the second round. Not a first rounder for me. I miss having a weapon like Hester on the team.

Yeah I agree...unfortunately the hype machine will vault him into the first round...and he will test off the charts at the combine so he won't be there in the second. All the reason more why I will be pretty pissed if the Bears draft him in the first.
I'm a much bigger fan of the way backs like Howard and Carey perform in this offense than Langford. If you want to dominate TOP with a strong running game you need north/south backs with great vision, quickness, and power. They have it, Langford doesn't.
After a historic performance in Week 8’s Monday Night Football, rookie running back Jordan Howard has finished the first half of his first season as the clear starting running back for the Chicago Bears.
He cemented his role at the top of the depth chart with 202 yards of offense against the top-ranked Vikings defense, the youngest player ever to go over 200 yards of offense in a single game.
“The conversations we had in between series on the sidelines — the things he was seeing and the things he was telling me — told me all that I needed to know that this kid was wired in right and ready for the moment,” said Bears running backs coach Stan Drayton.

Despite the talk of a three-headed attack at running back, Howard’s 69-yard run in the first quarter set the table for what would be a career night — so far — for the young thoroughbred.
“Coach told me that I was going to be starting and that this is my type of game and he told me to attack it. I rolled with it,” Howard said.
The Bears head into their bye week with some momentum entering the second half of what’s been a very disappointing season so far. They’ll face the 3-4 Buccaneers in Week 10, a game that should be considered winnable for a Chicago team that is getting healthy at some critical positions.
The Bears’ next four opponents — Buccaneers, Giants, Titans and 49ers –have a combined record of 12-17.

Goes to show you why you don't need to draft a RB in the first.
I'm really enjoying Howard. He seems he can do it all.
So why in another thread were you boosting EE over Floyd as your reason for needing to draft 3-5 in 2017. Howard isn't quite Elliott but he's not far behind in production.
Posts like this undermine the very reason you try to give for losing to win in order to draft higher. It makes no sense. Can you see that?
