He is fun to watch. He doesn't have to be Elliot to be a solid foundation piece of the rebuilding project. If the other positions had players this good, we'd be in the playoffs this year. Unfortunately, we have very few playing at this level at their respective positions.
I don't care where he was picked in the draft. The guy can flat-out play well.

He's the first RB this team has brought in w/the skills to replace Forte; and that's what makes me happy. The guy isn't a backup, or a rbbc style rb; he's all the RB any team needs, even if he's not quite elite, he's still more then good enough for teams to now have to game plan for.
Yeah, I'm not trying to knock Howard...I like him a lot. I'm just saying lets not kid ourselves...he's not Elliot...and thats ok. It's like saying Matt Forte wasn't AP....would it have been nice to have AP? Sure, but Forte was more than good enough.
You don't have to...nobody ever said you do...however one of the differences between Howard and Elliot...which you are clearly making reference to, is that Elliot scores on that 69 yard run by Howard.
Another difference between the 2 is one has the best oline in the league while the other doesn't.
How does that help you not get caught from behind? Color me confused with what one has to do with the other?

If we have a shot at drafting Leonard Fournette do we do it? Even though Howard has already proven himself.
Thats a bit of a loaded question. One I need to know who else is available at that spot. Two, thats not a great comparison to what happened last year. We had no back who proved himself...for as much as one can in 8 games...so if we had the chance to draft Elliot we should have.
I think Fournette is a down right stud and if he's the best player available I have no problem if the Bears decided to draft him.
Best OL does'nt help you get from 30 yards down field to the GL.
He leads the league in yards without contact...
What?
How does an oline keep a guy from getting caught from behind when he's 30 yards down field?
Also, if drafting a successful player in a later round proves you don't need to draft one on the first then I guess no position needs to be drafted in the first since all positions have successful players that wrestling drafted in the later rounds... Ala Briggs, Tom Brady, etc.
