A truly 'great player' shows up all the time , not just once in a blue moon . Is there anybody who sits down to watch a game thinking about , excited about , anticipating , what CornWash is gonna do ? We did it when Hamp and Dent were playing -I've NEVER thought about it when it comes to CornWash . I'd like to , but I don't think I'm ever gonna .
Despite people ripping on him, or more accurately you for this type of stuff, I'm a fan. I think he has looked very good this year while Unrein more often than not looks to lose ground every single play. It could be the lower reps he gets keeping him fresh to use his athleticism, but he is undeniably a keeper going forward.
I couldn't agree more.
CW should be getting most of the reps at DE with Unrein backing him up (rather than the opposite like we have now). And the whole damn team jackup up that sack fumble play, not just Corny. How no one falls on the ball there is beyond me.
I'm not sure how anyone can really grade the DL of a 3-4, their jobs are so NOT stat related it's near impossible. It's not a 4-3 penetrating position. When Hicks gets sacks it's normall b/c he's blasting 1 or 2 OLmen back into the QB and he's able to get through after the fact, he's not shedding his responsibility to get there. That's not always how it goes though.
It's harder to tell if a DL'men is doing his job right or wrong then it is to tell if the QB threw wrong or the WR ran wrong. But if you believe Fangio has a clue(and I do somewhat) then Right now he's testing all 3(including the rookie) and right now Washington isn't winning anything but more chances on passing downs only.
I think we need to cut him some slack for that. He saw Hicks celebrating an incompletion and no one was going for the ball least of all Hicks who is the guy who needs his ass kicked. That was exactly like the GB game where Rodgers fumbled and we gave up a TD when no one bothered to cover the ball.
I hope Fangio does some serious ass chewing during the film study this week. You play to the whistle always, every down. **** the celebrations some of these assclowns insist on doing. CWash got flagged but it was Hicks and the rest of the defense that actually caused it by not reacting to the ball.
I completely agree with you. When I watched the replay I saw him on the field along with a couple other guys including coaches. Washington just happened to be the furthest on the field.
They had to flag someone and coaches don't have a number. LOL
I saw one coach, I think it was one of the Rodgers brothers throw his cap or a clip board in anger even before they threw the flag I assume for not covering the ball.
+1 LOL, there were a couple of posters from the old board that I really missed on this new one. DavidL was one I was hoping would join here. Us old farts need to stick together :-)
You're only as old as you feel, am I right?
No.....it's a man's only as old as the woman he feels.
CornWash stepping up his game. I like it, he will be a good dept player granted we dont draft a DE in the early rounds. I just hope Bullard will imrpove, so far he hasn't been balling out.
Bullard has made a few nice plays again the run but the OT are handling him too easily on the pass rush due to his size or should I say the lack thereof. They have him listed at 290lbs but I think that's with some rocks in his pocket. He doesn't look much bigger than McPhee whose now listed at 273lbs.
I think both he and Floyd will benefit from a year of weight room work to add some muscle and bulk without losing their quickness and burst. That's the problem with drafting some of these undersized players. Year one they aren't quite big enough or strong enough to handle full time work. Grasu had that problem last year playing closer to 290lbs and came back this year closer to 310lbs.
He joins the site and immediately starts a CornWash thread.
For what it is worth...I thought Washington had his best regular season showing last night. Granted it was against a OL decimated by injuries, but you have to start somewhere.
We do what we know how to do best. LOL
Welcome David. I like what I see out of him too. The guy is a beast with wheels.

Well Danimal was the #4 overall pick in the draft and was always a DT or DE even in college and Dent was a very good college pass rusher who got drafted late because he only weighed about 230-235lbs like Floyd. The Bears got is teeth fixed so he could eat and all of a sudden he's 6'5" and 265lbs.
CWash was an OLB in college and not a very productive one since like Floyd they moved him all over too. Based on sheer athleticism and size he was a 2nd round pick but based on football skills and smarts he was a 6th rounder. Remember the Bears had him playing OLB and STeams at 265lbs until Fangio arrived and then he missed all of last year. Now he's 290-295lbs and a full time DE but with no more experience at it than a rookie.
Give it time because he is a beast of a player and once he learns more stuff he could get very good at what he does.
