I'm not sure how anyone can really grade the DL of a 3-4, their jobs are so NOT stat related it's near impossible. It's not a 4-3 penetrating position. When Hicks gets sacks it's normall b/c he's blasting 1 or 2 OLmen back into the QB and he's able to get through after the fact, he's not shedding his responsibility to get there. That's not always how it goes though.
It's harder to tell if a DL'men is doing his job right or wrong then it is to tell if the QB threw wrong or the WR ran wrong. But if you believe Fangio has a clue(and I do somewhat) then Right now he's testing all 3(including the rookie) and right now Washington isn't winning anything but more chances on passing downs only.
As far as playing DE goes he's still a rookie learning and earning his way to more reps.
To me one guy who always seems to do better even playing out of position than I ever expect is Sutton. For his limited size he's improved at NT. He doesn't actually have this size to play there but he's a gamer whose all effort and he's at least holding his own while Goldman heals allowing Fangio to keep Hicks at DE.

welcome Davidl. For the record, I laughed when I saw the CornWash thread. That being said, I have seen more of his name and number on the field this year, in a good way.
FWIW I wanted to type your version first but I wasn't hure how Dave would react. lol
I have to be honest though. I stole that one from Groucho. LOL
For me these days dating a 35 year old would be like dating my daughter.
Of course, I don't have to tell them I'm dating a 35 year old do I? LOL
+1 I got a laugh out of the comment. But it did get me to thinking all day about my present situation. Mrs JABF and I are both old now. We have been through a lot of "life" together (good and bad) and we are closer now than when we were young - and we have more fun together now than when we were young. My wife and I have been through so much stuff that life throws at you, that it's been like we've fought side-by-side in the same fox hole for so many years. You do get a special bond. LOL, I'm an ex-Marine so that fox hole seems like an appropriate description. You bet your life on your buddy having your back.
We are on vacation this week visiting our kids out East. Someone took a picture of us yesterday. LOL, man, I looked at that photo and thought we really ARE getting old. But growing old together is actually a pretty cool thing. I never would have thought that when I was young. But it's true in our case. My best friend is definitely my wife. I'm sure glad she has put up with me all of these years :-)
No.....it's a man's only as old as the woman he feels.
I still feel 35 myself.
Great Groucho Marx quote.
I love The Marx Brothers shorty.
That's where I got that idea for using "swordfish" as our secret password. That came from one of there old routines too. That and I think we did the "sanity clause" one too.
