I like what I see in CWash now that he'd found a home at DE and I'd like to see more of him. Once Goldman is healthy playing CWash and Hicks more and Unrein less makes sense. Unrein is an overachiever much like Sutton and the DL will be stronger once it has it's impact player in there. CWash is one and I think Bullard is beginning to show signs of improvement too.
There is no doubt watching them play that Goldman, Hicks, and CWash are physically overpowering players who can dominate their opponent at times. To me that's a good looking DL when you have the depth the other three create.
Have any stats for penalties while on the sideline?
I think we need to cut him some slack for that. He saw Hicks celebrating an incompletion and no one was going for the ball least of all Hicks who is the guy who needs his ass kicked. That was exactly like the GB game where Rodgers fumbled and we gave up a TD when no one bothered to cover the ball.
I hope Fangio does some serious ass chewing during the film study this week. You play to the whistle always, every down. **** the celebrations some of these assclowns insist on doing. CWash got flagged but it was Hicks and the rest of the defense that actually caused it by not reacting to the ball.
I completely agree with you. When I watched the replay I saw him on the field along with a couple other guys including coaches. Washington just happened to be the furthest on the field.
I have no desire to discuss CornWash anymore than I already have. Up to this point he has done zero to deserve the amount of discussion he's received. Thats indisputable. Having said that, he did play well from what I noticed last night....of course I don't only watch him all game long so take that for what its worth.
Notice the names at the TOP and the BOTTOM of this list. Nobody on this team (except Willie Young) penetrates into the opponents' backfield on passing plays as consistently as CornWash, and that is why he is at the top of the list, and Unrein at the bottom. The reason Unrein and Bullard suck at pass rushing in these grades is that a guy has to be strong as a horse to get into the backfield in a 3-4 defense with only 4 guys rushing (meaning lots of double-teaming). Hicks and CornWash are super strong physically, and Unrein and Bullard are not. That is the bottom-line on these numbers. It is past time for Unrein's demotion.
If our DB's did not allow 67% pass completions, all our linemen (except Unrein) would have a few more QB hits/sacks stats. It is really hard to get to the QB when your CB's play loose coverage. I watch Seahawks and Bears every week. Not only are they a contrast on talent level, but also in tactics. Third-and-long, the Hawks rush five guys and the CB's play TIGHT man-2-man coverage. I want the Bears to do more of that. Nothing is more painful to watch than a long, slow, steady TD drive against our defense. Get up on these receivers and challenge for the damn ball!
In closing, I am very confident that, if Bears start the 2017-18 season with these guys as our core rushers, we are going to have a hell of a pass rush…

Oh lord....who let him in here??!! Isn't there supposed to be a vote for these sort of things or something? Christ almighty!! Tell your boy to learn when the hell he's supposed to be on the field and when he isn't!!!
Ya this might have been the WORST week to start this thread
Dude literally cost the team a stop and points while NOT on the field.
He's not a bad player, but he's not special either, he's just a guy. And there's a reason why he gets limited time on the field. Hope he continues to develop and improve, but he doesn't deserve his own thread anymore then Unrien, Hicks or any other player.

I think it's dumb to call him out on that though. He wasn't the only person on the field that shouldn't have from the Bears. Saw some other players and coaches that needed to stay back.

That speaks to a general lack of control and discipline of this team. Same w/Hicks not knowing that you jump on a ball on the ground. That goes back to coaching. You don't go onto the field until the whistle blows, you go after the ball until the whistle blows.
So let me add, ANY player/coach that was on the field was a jackass and deserving of being called out, Corny included.

I agree with that statement more than your previous. I think they should be more strict with that rule in general across the league because coaches from all teams are on the field way too often and don't get called for it.
The penalty was inexcusable. I expect CornWash has learned his lesson on this.
Regarding replies so far, I am happy to discuss/debate CornWash with any member. What I do not appreciate is guys who come here just to throw mud and exit.
For anybody who does not like this thread, the easy solution is don't read it.
I was just telling my wife this morning that the 1 thing missing on this new messageboard was a decent CornWash thread. Thanks for posting. My life is now complete :-)
