Which is very interesting and could potentially benefit us in regards to the ARob situation.
It could. He might end up regretting not taking whatever it was the Bears offered him...it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. What guys are going to be released adding to the market.
Philly seems to be in an "interesting" spot. As it stands, according to overthecap.com, they are going to be 60 plus mill OVER the cap and a lot of guys with big dead money numbers. If they cut Wentz post June 1, thats a $35 mill dead cap hit...he's virtually guaranteed to be there simply because they can't afford to cut him.
Yeah I saw a graphic weeks back that assumed a big Covid-cut to the cap would be imposed. It showed LOTS of teams over the cap and I don't mean a little over. I mean WAY OVER. I mean necessitating big time time salary dumps.
For the sake of keeping the peace between ownership and labor (players), there was no way that was gonna happen.

Yeah....looking at it, over the cap had the salary cap for 2021 pegged at $176 mill. Even at $196 mill...that still leaves Philly 40 plus mill over the cap...and some other teams in similar situations.
The 2020 salary cap was roughly $198 million per team. Salary cap analysis website Overthecap.com estimated the 2021 cap number would reach $180 million. One of the people suggested $185 million would be the number, but either way, it will mark the first salary cap decrease since 2011. But that cap is projected to skyrocket to over $200 million for the 2022 season.
